'Your DPD local delivery driver is on delivery 12, you are delivery 93'. But he's driven past our village to get to Colchester. This is a Bulleid diesel we're talking about not just any Xmas parcel.

Having difficulty finding photos of the cab end of Class 122 driving trailers built by Gloucester for the 122 powered cars. Does anyone know if they had the same small destination name box on the roof as the 122 'bubble cars'. It would make sense

Comet/Wizzard etched Fowler 4F chassis received in the post. Will replace an old Wills 4F chassis under an Airfix 4F (I hope) with a Mainline Fowler tender, used as an unmotorised double header

About to graft the sides of an Ian Kirk Bullied 57ft multi door brake corridor on to a Hornby Maunsell brake. Hornby sides are removed and roof ventilators fitted, roof and sides painted and sides glazed. Going in, wish me luck.

Used photo from member Penlan on 'LMS push pull thread' Post 62, of coach M24425M. This coach was maroon unlined in fresh outshopped condition with additional push pull control cabling, circa 1963

There is another photo of this coach, from longer distance, with a freshly outshopped Stanier composite non corridor with protruding top door vents, without 1st class door markings and Ivatt Class 2 on the Leamington to Weedon route.

After more than 6 years since the last conversions, have started two more Kirk 57ft Bullied coaches by grafting the Kirk sides to Hornby Maunsell coaches-Composite and Brake third in the workshop-no rush

Just about to use Testor's Dullcote for the first time. Will try out first on a scrap model before using on 4 Class 123 dmu roofs.

Marked out the positions for BR scalloped vents on a Class 123 driving brake, opened up first packet of vent castings to find they are ridged type. Work on dmu has come to a halt while castings go back for replacement

Just returned from 2 week hols in north Herefordshire, where I discovered the delights of Dunkertons cider. Arguably the best cider producing county-controversial.

Just received two Hornby PCAs from The Weathering Works, sold on e-bay. Lovely workmanship. Now changing the wheels to Gibson 10.5mm to bring the buffer height down.

Reminiscing on the passing of Dave Swarbrick last week, what was happening in West London in the mid 1960s to produce so many folk/folk rock icons- Dave from New Malden; Sandy Denny from Wimbledon and Dave Cousins and Tony Hooper from Twickenham. I lived there from 1970, did I miss it
-
RIP Dave 'Swarbs' Swarbrick (died 6th June) arguably the most influential British folk rock violinist since the 60's, ex Fairport Convention and a long solo career. Did so much to reinvigorate British folk music. Joining that great band elsewhere. Maybe he and Sandy Denny will play together again.

Is it my birthday/Christmas/anniversery. The missus came home with several packs of Lees teacakes, in jam, jaffa, mint and coconut flavours. Have I been very good?

Phew - have just completed the chassis detailing of a Hornby 156 dmu, slicing off the original lumps and cutting out the individual components, making parts and obtaining spare air cylinders - took 4 weeks of evenings. Now Rapido or Realtrack announce your new British dmu is a 156 - make my day, week, year - the magnum is ready, but in all honesty in all the excitement I can't remember if its chocolate or choc & nut covered - do you feel lucky punks

Trying to choose destinations for a Swindon Class 120 dmu, found photos of them operating Bristol TM to Weymouth, lovely old GW line to Weymouth joint station

Supreme Irony-just received a recorded nuisance call asking me if I was fed up with nuisance calls and offering to sell me a telephone to block nuisance calls-pot/kettle etc-fume!!!
-
Fair comment.
Many of those spam-calls don't give out phone numbers.
Of the few that do, a significant number seem to be routed through one number with an area code from that part of the world.
I never take any of these scammers up on their dubious "wares" - but, if a number comes up when you dial 1471, it can be interesting to google it.

There is a railway related series starting this week on channel H2, 531 on Sky, called Combat Trains, Wednesdays at 9pm, dealing with the role of railways during major conflicts. The first episode is titled Nazi Trains and apparently includes material about the transport of people to concentration camps

New slant on 'delay due to leaves on the line' Abellio Greater Anglia has bus replacement service on Ipswich to Felixstowe and Marks Tey to Sudbury for a week now and ongoing, due to wheel damage from 'Autumn rail conditions'. They say on average, 2 dmus per day are suffering wheel damage.
