Prototype for everything corner.

Were they that short of motive power that that was all they could scrounge up for a main line working? -

Looks like another one, or a 6PAN at the other end of the platform. This would be a Brighton or Worthing working, as the Hastings ones would usually be formed 6PUL-6PAN; the PUL left at the Eastbourne reversal and the PAN worked to Hastings (Ore). -

I'm getting quite a few timeouts recently while navigating between pages in a thread, only the error reported is 522:

As SWMBO is half Welsh, she should get there a minute before I do, then...

This is the graphics bit (GPU = Graphics Processor Unit). Looks like an on-board video card, using VRAM carved out of the onboard RAM. Not very useful in my case.

With my luck, the night I went I'd get one of the three...

I took a look today, price vis-a-vis a full spec Gaming Laptop is very good. I can't see any detailed specs on the video capabilities (ie how much hardware VRAM it has). Most of my Steam Games are pretty heavy on Graphics and require a separate video card rather than integrated graphics. I'm running a GeForce with 8GB RAM on my lappy to cope.

So that van driver couldn't read and/or understand the very clear instructions that were on that sign? -

Four 2BILs - I thought one of them was a HAL but on zooming in, the curvature of the bodyside isn't right.. -

1) 022 was formed from the power cars of 2HAL units 2613/69 (10731/87) 2) 019 was converted from Bulleid-style 2HAP unit 5629 3) The 'adaptor vehicle' looks like an old SR 'BY' van -

Are you not supposed to look directly at Medusa, otherwise you'll be turned to stone? -
On Tuesday, even that record was history, as the thermometer rose to 49.6°C/121.3°F at Lytton.
-
Canada is experiencing the same; Lytton, by the junction of the Thompson and Fraser rivers between Kamloops and Vancouver, registered a Canadian record (46.1°C/115°F) on Sunday and broke that on Monday (47.5°C/117.5°F) - apparently this is an all-time record for anywhere north of 50° Latitude. I was on the Revelstoke VRF cam Sunday and at the end of the day the yard was full of trains stuck there after having motive power issues due to the heat. There was, I understand, emergency track work undertaken overnight to the west of Revy, and on Monday several early eastbound trains included extra locos that were dropped at the yard to add to westbound trains to provide additional power so the locos weren't pushed as hard on the 'hills' (described in chat as 'use notch 6 instead of 8'). Maximum temperature on Monday at Revelstoke was a relatively balmy 39°C/102.2°F

That's how I remember the approaches to LB - Bulleid-style 4EPBs, and BR-style 2EPBs - looks like another train behind the 2EPB on the right... -

Reminds me of when I used to get tired of all the HSTs going round the club test track and put a 'Terrier' each end of a NGS Inspection Saloon and tell them the LBSCR got there first... -
Are these ordinary meters or 'smart' meters?
