I know that Class 73s were very much Southern Region locos - but did they ever get to South Wales? My layout is set between Newport and Cardiff but I have a massive soft spot for the 73s. Whilst I know I could invoke Rule 1, I have my own Rule 1, i.e. if it happened once then I can justify it. So did a Class 73 ever run on those lines, especially pre-2004. I know that last year the GBRf tour ran a pair to Cardiff, and I'm guessing that might mean it hasn't happened before.

Hi everyone, Wondering if anyone can help shed some light on an issue I'm having.... I was trying to make a consist on the NCE power cab between a Bachmann Class 47 and a Bachmann Class 08. I managed to get it working, although it was clear that some speed matching was required. I then cleared the consist on the controller but now neither loco that was in the consist is responding at all. I've testing other locos and can rule out any issue with the track or controller. Does anyone have any ideas? Rich

Hi all, I'm trying to get hold of a network map for Virgin Cross Country in the late nineties - especially keen to know if they ran any services into South Wales - was today's Nottingham to Cardiff service running back then? I'm also hoping to get an idea of what services were run by what rolling stock. Any help would be great.

Hi all! What is the difference between MK3 and MK3a trailers. I (think I) know MK3s are HST stock and MK3a are loco hauled but what are the other differences? I know the 3a's have buffers and MK3 don't, but what are the other differences? I'm asking as I'm thinking about trying to convert some Oxford MK3a's to HST stock, but I'm not sure if it's actually a much bigger job than I'm thinking it might be. Thanks, Rich

I'm having an issue with the DCC Concepts DML-EOT Light kit and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what I might be doing wrong. I can de-connect and re-connect and get the light to flash over and over, but as soon as there is a constant connection I get the single flash and nothing more. I have tried the switch in both positions on the EOT Control, and have even tried another EOT Control from the pack but I get the same results. Other Information: I'm using a Bachmann EZ-Command Controller. I have tried it on the DCC and Analogue output with the same results. I'm not using a DCC decoder - rather connecting the red and black wires directly to the power source (Track). I have connected the HALL Trigger as per the diagram. I have emailed DCC Concepts - but I'm still waiting on a reply so I thought I would ask here too. If anyone could offer any advice that would be great. Many thanks, Rich

Was that partly down to the Royal Train nature of it? Perhaps you're right and it's put them off.

I was really surprised that the 2019 range didn't include a Swallow Liveried version. The last one was Fire Fly (I believe) and even that was a little different as a loco assigned to Royal Train duties. I was really hoping for a Swallow version, and I'm sure there are a lot of people that would be interested in one!
