  1. And I'll bet you'll also fit the earlier type to the pre-refurb examples no doubt! (some of them slipped through refurb with these still fitted, 50005 being one off the top of my head)
  2. If they get these angles right and it looks like they have, Ill be having a good few of these!! No one has managed it so far, Heljan was close but but it still wasn't right. What's surprising with these is the windscreen corners are not 90 degrees which is how the dropped down look of the screens is accomplished.
  3. Does anyone know where I can get a pair of the above please? 00 scale. Generic headlight casting/ moulding as seen on 37/47/45 etc etc.
  4. The bogie frames are a simple clip-fit. This chap does it on a 37 but its essentially the same bogie.
  5. 133 already showing as sold out at Hattons!
  6. It is indeed but its still far from right! I have a cab from a real one to remind of it every day.😉
  7. You can add the 50 cab front to the list aswell, the front windscreen area is some way off too.
  8. Its a bugbear of mine to be honest. 20 years ago I dabbled in EM but was continuously frustrated with the availability and cost of wheels and endless hours building track. I can see why many shy away from such things and are just happy with the compromise. I looked around the net a few months ago and see the cost for such things has doubled, personally, there's no way I could entertain EM or P4 nowadays.
  9. Having come across from a H0 North American based layout back (again) to British practise, I'm having a hard time dealing with tension locks and whole world of **** that brings!! I've been spoilt by lovely scale head Kadee knuckle couplers and the associated ease of use and close coupling for the last 15 years and very much want to recreate that in 00. I am glad to be back though but its certainly a challenge to reach the same degree of finesse whilst also getting it all to actually run reliably! I have some rakes of wagons semi-permanently coupled using the 3 link instanter and plan on a more suitable method for coaching stock eventually with a couple of options being pondered. For the ease of cost and time, I've opted to live with the rail spacing issue for now.😉
  10. 47 experts please. Could I renumber 435 to 525 ?? I note as built, 435 had fixed 3 part rad grills as apposed to the Serck shutters on 525. How is 435 modelled ?
  11. Its a no from me sadly. I had hopes but...
  12. Have to ask, wonder what would have happened if you didn't have the CCTV??!

    EBay madness

Some more expectation V reality pricing............ Damaged headcode plus a non prototypical nameplate that looks like it was stuck on using evostik by somebody wearing boxing gloves. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255672168553?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3Dcd40174cf98049f484b7914dc987488f%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D255672168553%26itm%3D255672168553%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DBachmann&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A5a6f1003-1b13-11ed-92df-360b90abe9ce|parentrq%3A9795ae371820a9fa6d8f53fcfffa8d3a|iid%3A1
  14. There are so many questions, like, where's the rest of it?😀
  15. Hi Neil, it wont consist!! You have to go into a particular CV that manages the consist address and input the consist address number you generated when you made up the consist. That's is the workaround that I found after doing some digging. Its all to do with the amount of packets that the DCC controller sends versus the amount the decoder is looking for hence it wont consist via conventional means. The previous Zimo that Bachmann were using, in the new tool Class 20 for example, didn't have this problem.
  16. Didn't see it in my notifications, now answered it.
  17. Plenty of them have no bearing's, the Class 86 and Class 16 are two that don't off the top of my head. Was quite alarmed to see it (or the lack of) when I removed the base keeper plate from an 86, supposedly a high end model but instead akin to a Limby. Everybody else seems to be engineering this simple feature into their models drive train these days, it cant be that hard. Bachmann have been doing it on their diesels for about 20 years now.
  18. Will this new model have brass axle bearings in the bogies like Bachmann etc ??
  19. Thanks for that fella, a senior moment!!😊 Now edited.
  20. AS 37 has them attached to the chassis, the same as Bachmann's. AS' second run of Deltics will also have them fitted to the chassis.
  21. Have these models got proper brass axle bearings like Bachmann etc or are we still going with the Lima way of doing things from 1980?
  22. As it is, the MS450 is not NMRA compliant. Bachmann seem to have moved over to Zimo now. Why not have a drop down menu when purchasing- Zimo or ESU, no big deal you'd have thought!
  23. I noticed from the YouTube video on these models, Bachmann are using the Zimo MS450, at this stage, this decoder will not consist as I've just found out and is a known issue.
  24. Thought I'd use the search function instead of creating another thread and this one came up, I'm also having the same issue but with a Zimo sound decoder- MS450 P22, together with NCE Pro-cab (fundamentally the same as Power-cab) Interestingly though, the other loco I'm trying to consist with is a Bachmann model, factory fitted with a Zimo MX645 P22, this loco will obey commands once in the consist- the MS450 remains static/ unresponsive. Very irritating when I purposely shelled out £135 for the decoder and sound set specifically for a consist with the factory fitted loco.😦
  25. Could also say the same for the 50, both long in the tooth and plenty of shape errors but then I maybe slightly biased. 😉
