  1. Great photos, the penguins are a nice addition to add some humor/interest. Enjoy the show. All the best, Dave
  2. I'm constantly impressed with the depth you have in the pictures and how much detail is included in the background. The photos look very life like and give the feeling that the layout must be exceptionally long/big to achieve the feeling you've managed to create. All the best, Dave
  3. The 30 year old version still looks very good. Seeing it brings back childhood memories with the light blue station sign. The goods shed also looks spot on and captures the feel of the place perfectly. Brilliant modelling👍. I guess the base tunnel and the bus service make the station redundant, (and the BLS don't put on trains just because they are interesting to watch), but it used to have all kinds of interesting stock passing by in the 90s. All the best, Dave
  4. Hi Dave, I hope you enjoyed the break, and that you are fit and well. Of course there are far more important things in life than railways and our hobby, I can only hope that your kind efforts to share your brilliant photo collection does not get in the way of the more important stuff. But I'd also like to thank you for the interest and joy it brings to be able to see your wonderful photos. All the best and thanks again, Dave
  5. I'm sure it's fiddly, but the end results look brilliant and will really make your layout standout and look realistic. It's great to be able to follow it all as it develops. All the best, Dave
  6. That station building is outstanding. I had to do a double take on the second and third photo, I thought it was the real thing and it was only the background that gave it away. All the best, Dave
  7. I've just stumbled upon this. Brilliant stuff. You've found a very interesting spot to model there. All the best, Dave
  8. Made a start on class 321s and they have been a little like the class 92 from revolution. They almost have a 'toy' feel about them without weathering, but just the simplest and lightest of weathering really brings out all of the amazing details. The railway room (I am hoping that sounds more impressive and permanent than 'the back corner of the cellar behind the commuter bikes'.....🤭) is getting a coat of paint and a floor, so it will be a few weeks until the 321s get out into the layout because it's currently under dust covers. Hopefully between the renovations I will get a chance to finish the silverlink one and maybe have a go at the NSE one. These models make WCML modelling south of rugby possible, so it was great to have them sitting on the workbench. All the best, Dave
  9. Hi, I've just had a look through my old photos and can't find them I'm afraid. The railway rooms getting a coat of paint and a new floor, so the layout is under covers at the moment. Once everything is set up again I will get some new photos (I suspect this will be something like 2/3 weeks time). All the best, Dave
  10. Top stuff Simon. You have a flow of very interesting stuff coming off your workbench and all modelled extremely well 👍. Always a pleasure to see a new post on the Dallam thread and follow what your upto so thanks for sharing. All the best, Dave
  11. Brilliant collection of videos and photos. Thanks to everyone who's posted.
  12. Great photo! Nice to see there are still all sorts of wonderful formations and it's not gone completely in the direction of standard units 👍.
  13. Some nice pictures/formations 👍. It was such an interesting era wasn't it. The trains often looked like they were made up entirely spontaneously, yet from my memory (I was only a kid in the mid 90s) they were generally on time and comfortably full without being over crowded, so they seemed to get it right. All the best, Dave
  14. Just stumbled across this after seeing a cracking photo posted in another thread. Unfortunately all of the old photos are gone now, but enjoyed the linked videos. Top stuff 👍. All the best, Dave
  15. Top stuff 👍. That's really taking shape nicely isn't it. All the best, Dave
  16. Great news! Something to go behind the 59s. Does anyone know if the picture below common with the ARC loco hauling yeoman wagons? (And I guess as an entirely uninformed enthusiast, the first question should probably have been, have I got it right and those are actually PTAs in the photo 🤪). All the best, Dave
  17. A bit of a change from hanging wires, the 101 came away on holiday for a little detailing and weathering in the evening on holiday. The first step always feels wrong.....but the light wash dulls down the colours and gives a good base for weathering. Mixing in some darker washes. Buffer beam detailing is mostly provided, but the two leads on the left hand end needed making from scratch. A driver and a few passengers were also added. Then a final weathering (mix of spraying and powders) and detailing (fine brush) before it got a go out on the layout. All the best, Dave
  18. Brilliant model Graham👍, I've been telling myself I definitely don't need one because it just won't be at home on my layout.........but pictures and videos like that might change my mind 😵. The layouts really taking shape and a great backdrop to watch trains go by. All the best, Dave
  19. That first shot down the tracks and over the bridge is great 👍. Really shows the benefit of being able to take some photos of the layout in true daylight on a sunny day. I'm enjoying following your progress. All the best, Dave
  20. Impressive stuff, thanks for the description. I'm also still on DC, the price of DCC locos combined with having an 8 month old daughter and a new house to renovate mean I'm not likely to change anytime soon, although I do see the appeal of DCC. It is very motivating to see what is possible with DC on a far more complex layout. I can understand the feeling of wanting the EMUs upscaled. I've been wishing the other way around for 92s, 90s and 87s as you have in OO for a long time and two of three are now looking to have had the rescaling treatment, so fingers crossed for you that it will only be a matter of time until the 319 and 321 go the other way 🤞. All the best, Dave
  21. Some nice new stock that I'm sure will look brilliant out on the layout and those control boards are just supurb. Is the layout reasonably easy to operate? I struggle at times to keep on top of my very simple four track loop, I think I would go into meltdown trying to control such a big and impressive layout 🤣. Thanks for posting the pictures and videos, it's always a pleasure to follow your progress with the layout. All the best, Dave
  22. The wires have started going up, it's going to be slow progress. I couldn't help having a quick play with the EMUs that have recently arrived. They have really made modelling the WCML possible and I'm looking forward to weathering them. All the best, Dave
  23. Hi Jeremy, Nice to see an update on the layout. The postal building is a really impressive bit of modeling, I am blown away everytime I see it. Looking forward to seeing your points as they develop. All the best, Dave
  24. Just stumbled upon this, it's taking shape and a nice use of Space, you've got a lot of interest packed in there👍. All the best, Dave
