  1. You have done a cracking job with those buildings Mike, the engine shed is looking great, really nice to see some progress. Did you make or buy those buildings? I left the spiders in the WC for you and half a loo roll.
  2. A month on and very little progress has been made, to be honest my heart has'nt been in it, but mother nature has been busy filling it up nicely. The grass seed has sprouted all around and by the track side, blending the artificial turf into the beds near the small pond. I managed to get the loco's frame roughly welded and bolted up, at least now i have something to work off and build upon, the missing bogie is in bits and is hopefully having a drive chain sprocket fitted to one axle soon care of a old Atco lawn mower.
  3. The 'Marmite' class. Thanks for the info' on them, i do have a soft spot for 'em, so i might get swmbo to give me a lift down to the 'Branch' soon.
  4. 1.HP. I've always thought what if there was a treadmill in the base of the wagon so the horse can carry itself.
  5. Sorry! I'm not arguing over who did what or who's done the most for servicemen and Women. Misleading yes i may agree, but she was a well known much loved and major figure head for most groups and that brought in the attention and the funding they surely all needed.
  6. Before the Help for Heroes and all the other charities arrived that we thankfully have now, she was the only one doing anything to help ex-servicemen.
  7. You are probably right and it was most likely used for the steam staff, it was around the mid '80's and it was very early on a Sunday morn' at about 6.30am from memory, and one loco' was already being prepared for the day. I was on a weekend long coach trip which was visiting the Scottish depots from the Manchester area.
  8. Mid '80's and a couple of steamers amongst the 26's. I can only think they were for the summer specials on the highland line?
  9. i've not many Scottish pics' but what i have i'll try to post and share.
  10. It's been ideal growing weather over the past few weeks, warm then wet, then warm then wet again. Lonicera will always come back no matter how long you leave them or hard you have to scalp 'em, they are just a typical privet.
  11. Your nicely clipped and shaped Lonicera has gone a bit to pot CME, you've had a bloody good excuse as to why though.
  12. Great news charlie Here's 055 on the very last time i saw it running on Wigan Wallgate.16-12-19.
  13. Cheers David, i hope its a different loco' this next week, a different colour would make a change, all these colourful 66's out and about and i still see the same stuff i first saw twenty odd years ago
  14. More bad print copies of 25's. 25 ??? go's up the bank from Man' Vic' ?-11-82. Note 25.mph. sign. 25 078. SP.7-11-82. 25 237. SP. 17-10-82. 25 228. SP. 1-1-82. 25 235. SP. ?-11-81. 25095. Eccles. 1-7-83.
  15. What class would that have been Robin? I've got to say that pic' would look good in the 'Looks like a model' topic.
  16. 47 620. Merehead Open Day. 25-6-89. Nearly 31 years ago! Was a very hot and warm day, and plenty of cider got supped at that show.
