  1. Very frustrating - have t redo PW every time then can 'tick' some boxes and enter on the blog but then ... did get a save earlier but then a 'you do  not have permission ' etc.

  2. If you are in North America I started a Facebook group for british railway modellers. Be sure to look it up.

British Railway Modelling USA - BRMUSA

  3. I blame Hovis for the fact that every time I hear the slow movement of Dvořák's New World symphony I think of that unspecified Northern town (in Dorset), rather than (eg.) the rolling open prairies of North America.

  4. I hope you are watching Channel5 at the moment, not reading this... :wink_mini:

  5. I am a professional modelmaker working to commission specialising in etched brass coaches. For my own modelmaking I model the SE&CR in the Edwardian to WW1 era with a passing interest up to 1939. I specialise in SE area Private Owner wagons and wrote the book published by Lightmoor four years ago. I hold post as HMRS Stewards for pre 1948 PO Wagons and the SE&CR and I am the Membership secretary for the South Eastern & Chatham Railway Society. I have been a member of the Orpington & District MRS since 1973.

  6. At least the European Song Contest has been cancelled.

  7. Battleships confide in me and tell me where you are

  8. All very worrying.

  9. is catching a few rays in the garden with the first wearing of only a T-shirt this year!:D

  10. Somewhere in my house there is a small blue piece of plastic

Without it I can't run any trains.

It would hold a tiny SD card, so that I could plug that card into my computer, so that I could adjust the startup video settings, so that I could see what's on screen when my Pi-SPROG starts up. (The old screen died.)

    I wonder where it is...

  11. I'm surprised how few UK locomotives have the word 'fox' in their names...

  12. I am now gradually reconciling myself to the lack of minced garlic in the shops.

  13. I just dropped a tender handrail and heard it go "ping, ping, ping" on the tiled floor. It's nowhere to be found. What seemed like a great idea last night is now tainted with a sense of loss and disappointment...

  14. Larry Tesler has died.

    Rest in Paste.

  15. Somewhat puzzled by status updates that consist solely of one arcane word. What's the point?

    To show some intellectual gravitas?

    Swallowed a dictionary or thesaurus?

  16. "From Norwich - it's the quiz of the week"

RIP Nicolas Parsons, brutal quiz master at times.

  17. That money was just resting in my account!

  18. The Australian wildfires are beyond belief. It's like something out of an apocolyptic film. :(

  19. Get 'em out by Friday

  20. Hi Harlequin, I have been trying to gain as much space as possible in order to replicate your design named Hampton Malstead. As the design shows an approx 2' fiddle yard I have the space (the wife signing this off, she agreed in principal, but will no doubt have a different opinion when the base boards are made!!) To give an overall length of 10' and a width of approx 2' if I need an inch or two here and there I'm sure I can find it. I hope to run a single line into a fiddle yard 90 degree to the right of the main layout, tight to the wall as possible to give me as much scenic running as possible. Do you think it could be done? I have seen many of your designs in many other threads with curved platforms etc and tbh all look interesting to operate. I have read countless threads about bay platforms and engine sheds not being "prototypical " but  Lets be honest, more operational interest means more fun and enjoyment, well I think so anyway.

Would be great if you could make this design work within the space I have, don't worry  about the fiddle yard, I reckon I can sort that
