Last year I brought in a pair of Lima HST power cars off eBay to put into Arriva XC livery , included in the £40 price where 2 Airfix mk2d coaches , a bso & fo. Had them in the spares box for ages mulling over what to do with them , so decided to take the plunge with a NR test train. First up being dbso 9702 & 977983 OHLI coach , added a further 3 cheap Airfix 2d’s to do 9516 BFR , 1256 PLPR2 & 72631 PLPR3

Some water droplets falling though the air... not sure what it means anymore... however, I do know that the Queen reigns but does not precipitate...

I have a parcel coming with a courier.
They have sent me an email telling me the parcel is at their sortation facility.
-
There I was. A-digging this ole,
a hole in the ground, so big and sort of round...

Come on Emma!
No pressure but "The nation expects..."!

I have been trying in vain to find a simple map, showing the location of the Jubilee beacons in the UK, but such websites either aren't working or don't exist.

Or here: https://platinumjubilee.gov.uk/events/
This page has a map of events, which includes beacons.

Why the heck is anyone thinking about a return of imperial measurements for shops?
Anyone else think this is a recipe for profiteering on customers by mixing styles on price per.
-
I was at school 40+ years ago and we were never taught the intricacies Imperial measurements. I literally have no idea how many ounces in a pound or pounds in a stone. (I measure my railways in millimetres but I can't help using feet and inches when talking to others.)
I assume most people after my generation were also educated in the metric system so who is this idea aimed at? I guess it would appeal to a certain section of the electorate...

I think I have just received the Schrodinger's Cat of Railway Modelling. Second hand loco from Hattons, described as tested and working yet it just arrived fully sealed in the original manufacturer's cellophane from twenty years ago...

Wondering about the incidence of grassy knolls in Moscow. Asking for a friend.
-
Sadly, I don't think Mr. P. goes in for open-top "motorcades" near grassy knolls, nor book depositories.
A Shakespearean end seems more likely at the moment. "Et tu Brute?".
Or Kenneth Williams, "Infamy! Infamy! They've all got it in for me!" (Ah, le mot juste!)
Or Bluebottle, "Did you know that Polonius was stabbed through the arras?"

Hi I recently came across this thread regarding GWR letters and I understand that you have the computer font for these letters. Would you be able to share the font with me, my club is building. GWR layout and I have been tasked with making the signs. In return I could 3D print some for you if you need anymore. Thanks.
Tom

The original "GWR Signs" font is held by the "GWR-Elist-2019" group on groups.io. You can download it from there if you join.
It's a bit old and some of the characters aren't wholly convincing, though. As they stand they all need to be emboldened for use on running in boards but the font has no bold variant - you'd have to stroke the outlines, which is not typographically the same thing.

I must admit I'm always nervous when I send a PM in case it ends up here...
I've been lucky so far!!!

On Pointless, nobody ever says, "I'd like to see questions about railways come up".
And when asked what they would do with the prize money, no-one ever says, "Well Xander, I'd buy a huge shed and build the model railway of my dreams".
That's what I would say!
