  1. IDK if i asked this before, but, can we have an O gauge version of an unrefurbished loco? Please 🙂
  2. When first announced, Hattons were taking pre-orders showing a price of around £70. This went up 3 times between announcement and about 2 months before delivery. I got so fed up with this, I cancelled my pre-orders and bought mine elsewhere. When I moaned about this on Fb, the Heljan rep. blamed Hattons, saying the rrp was always £169.95! I still think they were a touch pricey, but they are very good - im just so glad i didnt buy a weathered one - they look awful! I would like one of the Southern CCT's, but will wait until i can get one at bargain price - certainly not going to pay over £200. Hopefully, Dapol or Minerva might do the Southern bogie van - that would be higher up my shopping list.
  3. Maybe an urban legend, but Greenford East signalbox is rumoured to have a Signaller who likes to work in his birthday suit 😆
  4. Yes please - an unrefurbished version is definitely required!
  5. View Advert OO and OO9 gauge model railway layout For Sale is a OO and OO9 gauge model railway layout based on a small transhipment shed on a military railway system The layout measures 1200 mm x 960 mm The layout is based on mdf, mounted on a lightweight wood frame - the layout was wall / furniture supported so has no legs of its own The OO9 track circuit has its own Bachmann controller for analogue / dc operation The OO gauge tracks are all live (I used dcc control) - you will need to supply your own controller for this. The OO gauge points are fitted with Peco point motors but only 1 or 2 of these now work. The layout is fitted with yard, buffer stop and building lights, which have their own power supply and dimmer switch. Loss of storage & finance required to buy Accurascale 50's! forces sale. Search Baker Wood Bunker on YouTube for videos of the layouts construction and in use I will accept payment by cash on collection - buyer must collect (by prior arrangement) and the layout is currently in store in Shepton Mallet (Somerset). 6. A short film from my recent visit to Temeraire Towers to visit Exford Park 2. Many thanks to Ian and Shantha for their hospitality.
  7. I seem to have neglected keeping this thread upto date. Well, there has been little to report, with only a handful of operating sessions this last year. Highlight of the year has been the creation of the O gauge baallast train, mainly formed of SKOG "Herring" and "Shark" wagons. Ive a couple more Heljan "Dogfish" to weather and add to the set. For anyone who may not have seen these via YouTube, here are some links. https://youtu.be/iKF5JjL3l3c And another: https://youtu.be/3Odb1eqLa4s
  8. Happy memories of trying to get my late Father to buy me just a couple more Lima PGA's / Mk1's etc etc. If its the shop im thinking of - on the main road 5 minutes from Fratton station (10 minutes to the other model shop)? - I went 4 or 5 years ago and was very impressed with the huge stock of secondhand items and other models.
  9. Hi Ive seen more rumours on the delivery dates for these - any update from ECT - will they be delivered for Christmas or will it be new year?
  10. HST is on the Up Westbury avoiding line, taken from the bridge that carries a footpath and the Westbury to Warminster line, over the avoider - the area is known as Penleigh. Unfortunately, the footpath (which used to run from near the entrance to the new sidings in the down yard to Penleigh) was cut off by EWS a few years ago. A new housing estate is now in build to the left of the HST - I wonder how long it will take for residents to start complaining about the round the clock noise from the yard?
  11. In less than ideal photographic conditions, 50049 waits for 50007 to runround from the rear, at Ayr. The train had to top and tail to Stranraer, due to the limited length of the runround these days at Stranraer and due to the signalbox, supposedly, being switched out.
  12. A limited turnaround (due to late running) meant I didnt get a front 3/4 view of 50049 at Stranraer.
  13. To bring this thread right upto date. A few shots of the Galloway Fifties railtour of Saturday 11th September 2021. The first couple are of Stranraer and the last is at Ayr. Due to file size, spread over 3 replies.
  14. Those who have purchased the version 5637, have you paid a small premium and is there any mention of a donation, from the sale of the loco, being made to the 5637 loco group?
  15. Perhaps it would be better if all locos came unnumbered, as Heljan used to. Some might say it would give the manufacturers a bit more time to get the liveries spot on.
  16. Parts 2 and 3 of my July series are now available to view. Part 2 features new stock in the shape of the Cavalex Warflat wagons.
  17. I couldnt find any box opening videos so did one myself - it be useful to someone.
  18. In case anyone else is as foolish as I, dont let Humbrol acrylic varnish anywhere near these - Ive just frosted both of mine Oh well, I really wanted to repaint all the decking planks
  19. During the excellent weather we have enjoyed during the start of June, I set about making a series of garden railway videos, in which, I am going to try and run every piece of stock I have. We are 3 videos in and Ive barely scratched the surface! Lets hope this wet weather passes us by fairly quickly, so I can get back outside and do some more running.
  20. Wednesday 9th June 2021 66622 and co approach Westbury with 6C68 for Whatley Quarry. All 3 locos were under power.
