  1. As a matter of interest I couldn't give a flying fig. I just know other manufacturers are making a better pitch for my money than Bachfar at the moment, be it the next 3 months or 3 years, and the this latest 'non' announcement only backs that up.
  2. My cash is already lined up Sonic's 0-6-2T Revolution's Class 128 and A tanks Rapido's Metrovick Dapol's high window Maunsells Sorry Bachfar, you'll have to go to the back of the queue.
  3. 3 x 3 packs arrived in sunny Adelaide this afternoon via airmail. International post making a bit of a recovery - 7 days UK to Melbourne and 5 days Melbourne to Adelaide. The outer sleeves are very tight, but no biggie. I found just being patient when first pushing the jewel cases out worked, and they slipped back in again quite easily. My father worked at Blue Circle, Northfleet and in my teens I went to school beside the Dartford Loop where they made regular appearances so just had to have a few of these. Oh...... and thanks guys!
  4. Good Lord. Why would they waste their time? Andy and Mike repeatedly explain the issues they face in producing and delivering their models in the current environment, both here and on the NG Forum, but from the constant whingeing that goes on it's obvious no-one takes a blind bit of notice. It's shame, because every email (or article) they have to write because no-one is paying attention means the less time they have for planning and producing their excellent models.
  5. Mmmmm.....what else has happened in the last 10 months? Nah, can't think of anything
  6. "Straight out of the box it runs whisper quiet......."
  7. I partly answered this on the previous page To expand.....I believe that over time most of the red diamond locos were converted to blue star, especially those that were repainted blue. A quick search on Flickr brings up D8507 at Millerhill during July 70 in blue livery with blue stars. However at least one of the Beyer Peacock built examples D8600 green SYP - one of the EFE weathered ones - carried the red diamonds and is correctly modelled so, There is also a pic on Flickr of 8599 at Tyne Yard in July 1969 with no mu working symbols at all.
  8. Numerous happy punters on the N gauge forum, with only one person having had haulage issues - on a 1 in 25 grade!
  9. It's been measured by a respected source and the height was the only dimension out. But the 'legends' have been established - poor haulage capacity (most people are having no issues), dimensionally incorrect - and unfortunately these will be repeated ad nauseam on this and other forums from now until eternity.
  10. I believe that over time most of the red diamond locos were converted to blue star, especially those that were repainted blue. However at least one of the Beyer Peacock built examples D8600 green SYP - one of the EFE weathered ones - carried the red diamonds, I don't know the number of your model, but as an example there is a pic on Flickr of 8599 at Tyne Yard in July 1969 with no mu working symbols. As for the height issue it has been posted elsewhere that they are 1.3mm too high. I'm guessing most people's n-gauge tracks are out by a bigger margin!
  11. What has any of this to do with the new EFE Rail line of products.......?
  12. Just put 'em in the slammer and have done with it
  13. Imagine the outpouring of outrage if they tried that now
  14. In the late 60s/early 70s, 37s would occasionally reach Hoo Jct - there was a daily (?) Temple Mills (?) to Hoo freight that was usually a Class 31, but occasionally a 37 would turn up, and on a couple of occasions a Class 15 would appear - it ran right past our school.
  15. Yet this forum is littered with tales of positive service and almost overnight delivery from Hattons. I wouldn't buy any lottery tickets if I were you
  16. More comedy gold from the "Not in my armchair" brigade. This thread should give the Hattons 'Genesis' thread a good run for its money
  17. Yup - they should go back to using slide or print film, take the items outside into the daylight, use an external light meter, then send the film of for processing, wait 2-5 days, then scan it and then upload. Much more efficient and less likely chance of error
  18. Quite so. 60 pages in and still the thread that keeps on giving
  19. Sorry I was looking for the Hattons Garratt thread, but I inadvertently stumbled on this one. Do please carry on
  20. 25 pages of Comedy Gold Jerry If you don't like 'em, don't buy 'em. Simples.
  21. Agree - very much a niche model. I got my order in some weeks ago now for 3 x triple packs, but am nervous about it getting across the line. If people cast their minds back a couple of years, at one stage the B class tanks were no certainty.
  22. I don't care how much these cost, just shut up and take my money!
