  1. As far as I remember they simply go through bits of cliff to others parts of the harbour. I haven't been there for around thirty years, others may know a lot more than me. David

  4. The Deltic number was indeed a typing error. It could very well be a down train, it's a few years since I've been to the station, but I'll amend the caption. Thanks Jim and 35A for trying to identify the Class 40, I'll go with 40101. The date looks about right. David
  5. This evening's photos were taken by Dad at Darlington in 1975. The first four were taken on his arrival in Darlington for a weekend visiting Stockton and Darlington Railway locations organised by the RCHS, SLS and NER Society as a part of S&D 150 anniversary. The final photo was taken on his way home from the S&D 150 Cavalcade at Shildon. He had been there as a part of the team with Flying Scotsman. Note that the Class 40 in the second photo is still in green livery. 8. I only visited Edge Hill once, it was not the nicest place in those days. It was a very cold and dull day. I was quite glad to get back to Manchester in the late afternoon. David
  9. It's been a long time since we last visited Edge Hill, I think these are the last three photos I have. There are also two of Yorton, north of Shrewsbury on the line to Crewe. They were taken on the way back from a holiday looking at Welsh narrow gauge railways in 1982. 11. I think there may be a few but I haven't sorted that batch out yet as I still have a lot to do. David
  12. I tried to visit the Gauge 0 guild forum for the first time today, having been a member for a long time. It won't let me, despite following the instructions on the site about using it for the first time. I wonder what I am doing wrong - or is it just the software? David
  13. I knew I'd got something wrong today. The excuse is that I'm a biologist not a geographer. David
  14. I took it at 10.58 a.m. I suspect it may have been running late unless the sleepers were simply being worked as ecs at the head of the train. I noted the time for almost all my Swiss photos. David

  16. Some more of Dad's Paris photos from April 1983. He didn't have good weather.
