Some Swiss photos today but we are now going to look at the railways in the Summer of 1992. In 1992 I decided to drive to Switzerland rather than fly. We start with some photos taken in the north east, along the line from Appenzell to St Gallen, now part of the Appenzeller Bahnen, which is metre gauge. It actually went to Bressingham. I believe it is now stored in Switzerland as a source of spare parts after a restoration company failed. Does anyone know anything more? David

Yes, it is indeed an orange Dyane. It's not mine, though at one time I did have an orange one (R Reg). In 1981, when I took the photo I had a yellow one with a T reg plate. David

Blyth in Northumberland today, with photos of the branch down to Bates pit. A few odds and ends from France today. The Chamonix photos are taken looking down from Le Brevent. The stations can be seen in the upper part of the photos. The Avoriaz photo shows a very short length of "narrow gauge" track from the concrete mixer to a safe place for the helicopter to hover to pick up the concrete containers to take them higher up the mountain. Perhaps an idea for a cakebox model? Ian, Thanks for pointing that out. You are quite right, when I looked at the original scan the nameplate is clearly David.
