  1. LMS 7120 was unfortunately not preserved. 7120 was withdrawn on the 25/01/1969 and cut up at Cashmore's (Great Bridge) in May 1970. The '7120' seen at the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway in a photo from around 2002 is in fact the War Department example WD 70272/AD 601 (aka 878 Basra from the LMR). Unfortunately the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway don't help by claiming their Class 11 is LMS 7120 when infact this isn't the case.
  2. Received replacements today! Many thanks for that guys! :)
  3. @Castle whilst it has been a while since any comments have been on this thread, I was wondering if you could help me? Prior to joining Didcot, I know that GWR MICA 105860 was in the ownership of the Port of Authorities. Can you tell me if it was Port of Bristol Authority or Port of London Authority please?
  4. £180 end result. Hopefully no problems with it for the sake of the buyer.
  5. It's great what you can find on ebay sometimes... whilst most ebayers would be looking at 3201 or 1465, my eye was observing the Loco wagon. My suspicions is that it is the same wagon in both negatives but at different positions, unless someone who knows Machynlleth can tell me otherwise. Happily won these both of these negatives last month :)
  6. Already one on ebay with a standing bid of £180. K2304 is the example.
  7. We will each get our Railmotor's. We just have to patient :) And I have plenty of photos of 93 from over the years to keep me satisfied too in the meantime :)
  8. We've had two of them on the GWR Modellers page on Facebook but nothing more atm. To be honest though I'm in no rush for 97 to come through.
  9. Sugar beet did travel to Kidderminster once upon a time as we had a sugar beet factory and railway sidings alongside the Severn Valley Railway. Several of the SVR's former 7/8 Plank Mineral Wagons were ex-British Sugar Corporation wagons.
  10. By the way I dropped the question about the GWR Macaws on Hornby's Facebook page a few days back and got a reply this morning.

  12. With today's announcements, at first I was disappointed that we wouldn't see a GWR Macaw from Hornby. Looking at it now though, I do not see it as much of a loss in the long term. The Bachmann one still looks good and I was happy enough to snap up Bachmann's 33-927A example last year. The Bachmann version in GWR livery is still available from what I quickly observed this evening. For many years now, Hornby has gotten into a bad habit of not only duplicating products but also rushing them out to beat any rival products. From my own perspective, usually this tactic has almost and without fail, resulted in a disappointing outcome for Hornby. After the Titfield Thunderbolt situation in 2022, I lost a lot of respect for Hornby and to be honest everytime I see Hornby's Loriot Y it reminds me of that episode. I don't think the Hornby Loriot Y has been good seller either seeing it's been announced again today bearing the same livery, same running number but only now coming with a British Railways Coles Crane as a wagon load. As @Star-rider says, hopefully the new team is trying to tap into models that we have never seen before on the RTR scene. Only time will tell though...
  13. I voted for both LSWR Vans and Iron Mink in the end. This is the first time since I have been voting in the various end of year polling's that I couldn't choose one over the other. Both are superb models. On a plus note, damn @tmc but I couldn't resist snapping up their last set of the E86012 set of the LSWR Cross Country 4-Coach Pack in SR Maunsell Green today!!
  14. Any updates on these models at all please?
  15. @AGR Model Store are offering the R30134 LMS Turbomotive for around £199.98 or so alongside Rails of Sheffield and TMC I see :)
  16. Lovely detail and I found it to be a smooth running model in my perspective
  17. I do have to say it was great to see and handle one of these over the Warley Show a few weeks back :)
  18. Etchings to convert mine to GWR 666 have been duly ordered :) https://www.lightrailwaystores.co.uk/products/victory-riveted-tank-overlays?_pos=12&_sid=3e44229f7&_ss=r&fbclid=IwAR2shwXWkkAMgqjkkbQtmXYYoCU6VfW8bOqH1pJNxV3o-eQtNtF2ZTmVa18 Now do I order another for 667?
  19. Added bonus now is that the etchings to make the model in 666 or 667 are now available :) https://www.lightrailwaystores.co.uk/products/victory-riveted-tank-overlays?_pos=12&_sid=3e44229f7&_ss=r&fbclid=IwAR2shwXWkkAMgqjkkbQtmXYYoCU6VfW8bOqH1pJNxV3o-eQtNtF2ZTmVa18
  20. Yes I saw them yesterday and they looked very good. @gwrrob will post shots of them no doubt :)
  21. Despite me already having all 3 of the EFE LSWR Vans in SR livery, when you see the same three at £28 plus 20% discount at Warley (£22.40 each), one does say no to that. Duly purchased and scheduled for re-livery.
  22. I did speak with Dapol Richard at Warley today in relation to the GWR Toplight Corridor stock. One of the diagrams he told that was being done was GWR C32 Third.
  23. Whilst I was doing some wagon browsing tonight, I happened to come across this GWR 10t Loco Wagon 9313 (diagram N19 I think) located at Machynlleth in BR (W) Grey livery. As a wagon researcher this is the first time I have come across a GWR 10T Loco wagon in this livery. Would anyone who happens to have any photos or books relating to Machynlleth Locomotive Depot be able to see if they can find anymore photos of this wagon please? I know it's a longshot but thank you :)
