  1. Simon is that 37685 paired with EWS 37xxx? If you was to pair up 685 & 710, they actually worked a tour in 2001 from Crewe. Pathfinders The Catherine Wheel. This was the first leg to Derby... Crewe - (via WCML) - Warrington Bank Quay - Eccles - Manchester Piccadilly - Stockport - Crewe - Stafford - Bushbury Jn - Bescot - Perry Barr North Jn - Soho South Jn - Birmingham New Street - Proof House Jn - Water Orton - Whitacre Jn - Tamworth - Burton-upon-Trent -Derby Full Choc & Cream Rivera set as well. The tour was originally booked a pair of DRS 20's, but they became unavailable at the last minute so they kicked out 685 &710. Was a bloody good day, even though the 'Bombs' got shelved! Link to full tour here... https://www.sixbellsjunction.co.uk/00s/011117pt.htm Cheers Anthony

  5. Will pop by and say hello Steve. Cheers Anthony
  6. Been keeping up to date on your YouTube channel. Very impressive and a proper era 👍 Cheers Anthony
  7. Thank you 101. Yes, a very simple job indeed. Cheers Anthony
  8. By the way Nick, the layout and stock is looking superb! Solid 2mm modeller as you know, but somehow has a small collection of O taking over a corner of the garage 😆 Cheers Anthony
  9. I shall have to have a butchers. Thanks for that. Cheers Anthony
  10. Hi Nick My only issue with these is that they have chosen to model the early type with centre ladders! Why didn’t they just model the type that was more common, this being the later left hand fitted ladder examples. Apart from that minor (minor for me anyway) they do look very mouth watering. Now do I get a couple and rework the ladders and grab rails to the left? Or repaint an already left handed ladder type? A few have also had a moan about this 😜 Cheers Anthony
  11. Ahhh James, again, these are just absolutely stunning!! Nothing more to say. Cheers Anthony
  12. Thank you for this, really good comparison, however be careful as the BG 'should' be falcon grey, but the 2 Mk2s would have been executive dark grey, which is slightly darker than falcon grey, but I note on your BFK you have used the correct paints. Farish is neither here or there to be honest, but certainly very close and passable in my opinion, however you can tell the difference on the new Mk2F's as these are all executive dark grey except for the RFB which is correctly falcon grey. The RFB conversions all came out in falcon grey with italic (Gill Sans Bold) IC lettering circa late 1991/92. Now the last batch of Dapol Mk3s in IC swallow were actually quite good, better than the black we had originally! The falcon grey and executive light grey was pretty decent, orange cantrails and silver window surrounds, sadly I can't say the same for the sleepers. This really, really annoys me! I have 12 on order and I was a fool to think that Dapol would make a good job on these. So for now, I'm looking at masking up and respraying the executive light grey, adding new INTERCITY lettering and 10xxx running numbers. Sleeper should also be on all 4 ends, not just 2 as modelled, but in a slightly higher position. Add the silver window surrounds oh, and the orange cantrails! How have they missed these off?? I only assume that Dapol have either looked at the photo that's on Flickr of 10701 which was / is stored at Long Marston and noticed there is no cantrail, but this is basically because it has faded away after such a long time in storage. Now this is what I originally thought, but after a little further research, I note that in Nick Meskell's Scottish Class 37s Vol 3 - The 1990s, some had painted orange cantrails and some not circa 1994. I know the INTERCITY land cruise sets with white roofs do not have orange cantrails. Photo of the real 10701 (SLE) as stored below for reference... How they should look, but these 2 have orange cantrails... Taken in 1998. Anyway, for me I'm happy that we finally have Mk3 sleepers in N that can be easily stripped and worked on, but sadly (again) another Dapol product perfect for my modelling era that will need a little further money spent on and a partial respray etc to make right... The big question here though is, if Farish were to produce these, yes they would be near as damn spot on, but at what cost? £40 / £50 a pop? I'm looking at just over £300 for a rake of 12 Mk3s, then once the 2 Farish RFBs and 2 BGs are added, your up to around £420 ish depending on where you shop? So if Farish were to release these you could probably add another couple of hundred quid onto the rake, but I would be 99% certain that I could take them straight from the box and run them happily. So for me, spending a few evenings prepping, masking, spraying, sending a few quid over to Railtec for transfers (I actually have them all in stock as I knew something like this was going to happen) https://www.railtec-models.com/showitem.php?id=1275 are what you want - then add the paint and varnish on, your going to get a pretty impressive load 16 sleeper rake after all the alterations are done. Sadly for me, another pain and another pile added to the project list, but once complete, I'll be a happy chappie I reckon. A few more SLE and SLEP stored photos... 10558 (SLEP) 10731 (SLE) 10606 (SLEP) Cheers Anthony
  13. Jesus! That's some work that fella. My home depot too! Sadly it's a far cry from my first depot, which was in fact Rugby PSB, sadly now confined to history... Just one pointer, the photo where the transit van is parked, where the access door is, is in fact a roller shutter door, but please don't feel I'm nit picking, obviously without having close up access it's probably hard to tell from photos. Really is amazing work!! Cheers Anthony
  14. Ahh wonderful work Rob. I do like a small roundy, roundy. Will be following with interest. Cheers Anthony
  15. David, this is absolutely fantastic. I am actually based in the ROC at Rugby, so if you ever need any measurements or photos, just drop me a message. Cheers Anthony
  16. Awesome work Ian. Just recently starting following your thread, but watched many of your YouTube vids. Really enjoyed the Turbot reworks! Keep up the wonderful work, it's a pleasure to watch and this is coming from a 2mm modeller, but I still enjoy all aspects. Cheers Anthony

    N gauge Class 50

Ha, you'll have a long wait. Myself plus many others have been telling them for a while now. They never listen. I have even sent them the correct BS and Pantone codes, again, they still release incorrect trainload liverys. Regards Anthony
  18. That's a very good tip Duncan for spraying over black. Cheers Anthony
  19. Stay safe Duncan. I to am also cracking on a with a load of unfinished projects! Looking forward as always to your progress in these un-steady times. Cheers Anthony
  20. Hello all. My other exhibition layout Sutton St. Annes will be out on the road this weekend. This time at the Macclesfield ex. As always, I hope to see you there Cheers Anthony
  21. Type C for sure. Great job Duncan. Cheers Anthony
  22. Evening all. A little snap shot that was taken before the lighting rig was installed. A little wishy washy, but still captures the feel. Resident Gronk 08601 with 3 OCA / ZDA 'BASS' wagons. Beings the inspiration for the layout came from Northampton CMD and 08601 spent a short while out based at Northampton in the late 90s, I just had to model it. Not sure if 601 ever made it to the CMD, but I certainly remember viewing her in Castle yard circa 1998. The new (gorgeous!!) Revolution N YBA 'Tench' can just be made out at the rear. Cheers Anthony
  23. I'll crack on with the list soon. On a layout this small, its easy to make a list. Saves a thousand questions then I had the fan cowls custom 3D printed, supplying measurements I already had. They are printed flat bottom, but its easy to bend them ever so slightly so they fit the curvature of the roof. Drop me a message and I'll send you a couple. I have a bag full. Cheers Anthony
  24. Cheers matey. Yes, I'm a bit of a b****r when it come to the small stuff. You wont see any of it when standing 3' away at an exhibition, but it's there Cheers Anthony
  25. A more close up shot of the yard. A few more details are needed to finish this area, but it's getting there. Note the red flam vaults also industrial gas bottles stored within the compound. I wonder if P&O have noticed one of their 20' containers is missing?? A note on the concrete hard standing. This was laid strait after the track was all glued in place (see earlier post) and has survived the ballasting / water process. This is sheet TX42 concrete purchased and downloaded from Scalescenes. It was then printed on plain A4 paper, cut to size and glued down. To make it more work stained I have given it a good brushing of Humbol smoke weathering power and gently wiped away with tissue paper. Any excess was then hoovered up. The finished result actually surprised me! Another WIP OMWB is Dutch 31233 Severn Valley Railway with RR branding which is currently going through the transformation process. This started life as a plain old Farish (China) 31135, but has now been renumbered to 233 and features etched nameplates, arrows, Crewe depot plaques, 3D printed roof fan cowling, etched vertical grills, NRN roof aerial pods, plated over boiler port, headlights and windscreen washer covers. Who doesn't love a grubby Dutch 31? Oh to have these days back again... Cheers Anthony
