I got one of these from Locomotion Models & it arrived today. The lamp irons on mine were at various angles but easy enough to fix. One of the lamp irons needs to be touched up in black as the brass was showing. I also have a smudge on the inside of the glass in one of the doors & a slight scratch on the outside of the same glass. Other have mentioned the pantograph being not entirely straight. I have run it in on a rolling road & it seems smooth enough. At £220 it should be shouldn't it ? The smudge & scratch on one of the entrance doors glass is a disappointment though. I'm not going to send it back because of the hassle, not living in the UK. Has anyone tried to fit a decoder in one of these yet ? The four screws seem a bit awkward to get at because of the bogies getting in the way ?

Has anyone got a Genesis coach with a faulty lighting unit ?

Can I ask what kind of couplings would these coaches have had back in pre grouping / big four days ? Cheers. Tony.

Tell me about it. I have three packages coming to Ireland stuck in Royal Mail at the moment & they haven't even been scanned into their system even though they've had two of then since last Friday 🙄 Deliveries being slow I can understand but not scanning in tracked items is another matter.

I placed four orders for various liveries. 4 x LBSCR (Delivered) 6 x LNWR (Shipped) 4 x LMS (Shipped) 4 x SECR (Trunk) So it seems I have been lucky. I still have others which haven't been released yet.

It seems Hattons have made a bit of a pigs ear of things. It would be helpful if they explained what has happened ?

I have 6 LNWR coaches on the way plus 4 more LMS coaches in my trunk. I'm also looking for an LMS Brake 3rd or LMS full brake but alas they are all sold out. Hopefully a couple will become available if some cancel their orders.

Wouldn't Hornby already have the Hornby Dublo licences?

Strange one alright. I have a loco like that as well. At the start of a session it runs at about half speed. After a while it speeds up to normal speed again & is fine for the rest of the time until the next session? I run on DCC so it obviously the motor or the dcc decoder as every other loco is fine. I'll have a look at when I get a chance. I'll start by changing the decoder & take it from there? One of the mysteries of our hobby 😏

If anyone is interested Hattons have Southern, LNER Pre War brown & LBSCR coaches in stock at the moment. I think all of these were supposed to be sold out on pre order ?

The first thing to do after putting in a dcc decoder is to put the loco on the programming track. The programming track won't kill a decoder but full power on a layout can. It simply wont work on the programming track in that you can't read the decoder. Never put a loco with a newly fitted dcc decoder straight on to a full power layout. Always put it on the programming track first. Things that may stop a decoder from being read on the programming track include dirty track or dirty wheels, a faulty decoder socket or wiring off, defective or blown decoder, the decoder doesn't support readback. If you can read the decoder but it doesn't respond properly you can try to reset the decoder. If a decoder won't read a cv on the programming track you may still be able to program a cv as some decoders may not support readback. If the decoder can be read when put in another loco then suspect some of the reasons I have given above.

Have you cleaned the wheels in case they are dirty ?

I think my set would have been in the early sixties.

Did that set include smoke as well in the loco. I had a similar set as a child many moons ago. It came with smoke in the loco & a capsule of smoke oil.
