The view from the edge of the viaduct was incredible. ...how about the very last section of Belah viaduct which the local farmer still uses to cross the Belah Beck...down, but not quite out. Duncan
  2. ...Porcy has had many a waz in the Station Hotel at Hurworth Place...and if its good enough for Porcy, its good enough for the Royal Corp of Trains Spotters...

  11. ...that legitimizes its inclusion then...thanks Dave!
  12. NOT a 16 tonner in sight...however if you skip to the end (calling in half way through to savour the railway waste land scene - with all its associated crud)...you'll be delighted at the assortment of railway wagons. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pny-YBFeilM Thanks to Porcy for digging this one out...no wonder nowt ever leaves his work bench ...but all power to his ability to come up with gems like this. Should we be starting a new thread...'NOT 16t mineral'...or is it about time we became a 'special interest' group...just a thought. Cheers Duncan
  13. ...more hot 16T action caught on film...any idea what the black patches are for on the end of one of these little blighters? Duncan
  14. http://www.yfaonline.com/film/no6-railway-market-weighton-railway-station-closure-demolition I must stop watching films on the interweb...yet more 16 tonners...this time with a Yorkshire perspective and some very nice loose shunting. Porcy...is that a very late LNER brake van at 12:37? Other highlights include preserved K1 62005 on a pick up goods and a class 40 on a 2 coach train (with 'swingers') Cheers Duncan
  15. http://www.eafa.org.uk/catalogue/613 A day in the life of Manningtree from 1979...almost makes you want to start painting everything blue...nice sequence shunting 16 and 24 1/2 tonners...
  16. Clive When it comes to 3 links that makes 3 of us... If you've not already explored the East Anglia Film Archive...you could do a lot worse than watch... http://www.eafa.org.uk/catalogue/203591 Melton Constable in its death throws...not many 16 tonners but some nice shunting action... http://www.eafa.org.uk/catalogue/139644 The Wisbech and Upwell during the strawberry season http://www.eafa.org.uk/catalogue/76 The classic BTF film with Betjeman on his way to Hunstanton...only the very slightest glimpse of a 16 tonner right at the end...however, anyone get the number of the newly painted LMS van at 'Snetsham'? Cheers Duncan

  21. ...2.56...most dangerous thing I've seen in years...
  22. Porcy I've got a plan so cunning it would make (Sir) Baldrick proud...I'll make the door dividers detachable so when the first rivet counter peeks inside and tells me I've got it wrong, (and has a picture/drawing to prove it), I can take them all out and makes some new ones! ...on the other hand I might get lucky and someone has some 'inside' information on 13ton hoppers... Cheers Duncan
  23. Morning Porcy Very nice shot of the 13T hopper...now if only you had found a picture from above so I could see what the traverse door divider was like...and it would be like Christmas had come early! Cheers Duncan
