  1. Don't suppose they removed the rivets from the windscreens did they :-)
  2. Can anyone identify if this is a new type of board or is it the same as previous class 47 models?
  3. I notice that Rails of Sheffield now have the LL and IC versions at £99.50
  4. Nothing says "South London" better than 3rd rail and one of the numerous privatised rail companies that have had a go at operating commuter services over the years. You could do a cameo of angry commuters with pitchforks chasing a manager down the platform as another train gets cancelled.........
  5. Is there a set of Extreme Etchings or similar that can be used? Would a good etch hide a slightly untidy rivet removal job?
  6. There is clearly an opportunity to work with experts from the many preservation groups which would benefit both sides. The link up with the group who own 37003 produced a great model.
  7. They can increase their prices all they want but until they stop making basic errors my cash will stay in my wallet. Rivets? Really? How many times has this been mentioned in the press? Bachmann are either lazy, arrogant or ignorant. Locomotion, SLW - please save us from this shoddy nonsense, there's money to be made.
  8. Updated..... 9. Thanks for the extra info people. I'll edit the post over the next few days to reflect the additions. I've got something similar for the Class 47's too; anyone interested?
  10. All locos known to have been issues by Bachmann with serial numbers. Some engines have been released twice. Listed in build order not Bachmann issue date. If you spot a mistake let me know. 11. I have a complete list. I'll forward it to you.
  12. Any word on the release date of the Dutch livery 73138?
  13. Can someone who was at the launch clarify what versions will be initially available? Liveries etc.
  14. Who is the manufacturer of the OO kit ? I did read that somewhere that Etched Pixels did something in N Gauge?
  15. Is anyone aware of a kit to produce the MK1 BG Generator coaches?
  16. Calm down people....... These are "Pre-production Models" with a paint job. It has already been stated that Dapol are aware of the issues with typeface and it will be corrected on the models that hit the shops. I would hope that they would also be aware of the correct livery specifications and have compared them very carefully with published images and informed their production people about the errors. When they hit the shops and they're painted bright orange and have LMS emblazoned across them, then you can complain. But until then............
  17. They had the undecorated samples in the News section at the end of November and were expecting decorated samples at the end of December. One month on and we've heard nowt. So they slipped by a month in a month. I'm torn between the frustration of wanting these models to be available and patiently accepting that this industry can't plan because their suppliers can't or won't deliver on promises. They do look bloody gorgeous though !!
  18. And they said the GWR boys were adverse to following the rules !!
  19. I want a Scottish one and until I pluck up the courage to do the square boxed 40063, 40160 will do nicely. Looks like a fairly simple job, just wanted to know if anyone else had done it and come across any problems.
  20. I'm thinking of grabbing a D369 from Hattons at £77 and repainting it Rail blue, probably going to be 40160. Has anyone updated the headcode box version to include the outer nose front handrails ? Apart from the handrails are there any other changes that would need to be included ? These 40 detail differences really are a minefield !! (Sorry if this has been covered in the previous 39 pages, but I couldn't find any info despite searching.)
  21. I always liked them looking like this........ https://www.flickr.com/photos/widnes_road/11067278874/ ....but I guess that'll be a long time comin'.
  22. Remember the InterCity ScotRail branded ones got allocated to various places after leaving Scotland so seeing them turn up on Penzance/Brighton/Poole or even Folkestone services was not unusual. And even when they were allocated north of the border, anything with a Scotty dog or Stag it was almost guaranteed to go wandering :-)
  23. Was it the Mallard they're advertising on the telly (comes with a free maagzine and an Army watch; I think ??)
  24. This shot shows them skinny... https://www.flickr.com/photos/16587630@N05/4964854642/in/photolist-8yJbj7-bcS1fa-hyefkw-c93tRN-dvP5Ev-fm3pJg-dPgb2V-dPgbd6-dziuN5-dRnUBV-dPmMWq-dMk3q2-cgWK2j-gjvYrq
  25. Here's a quick snap of my Heljan 33/1 in Dutch and the thing that strikes me most is the reduced detail on the grills; really nice on 33103 but bloody awful on the new versions.
