MarkSG
Hope you've put in the request to the weather man to hold on the snow? Nothing wrong with a bit of snow! Keeps the traffic off the roads and makes the countryside look nice.
MarkSG
(pedant mode on) Are 'Chard Creamery' and 'Pick Purse Yard' one and the same 'cos the pictures seem to be (Pedant mode off) It would appear that the photo is Pick Purse Lane, since Chard Creamery has featured before in an arrangement of electrons on this very forum: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/75001-steam-swindon-2013/?p=1161674

MarkSG
If you've never been to the Stafford show before I'd strongly recommend it. I don't think I've missed it once since I first moved to the area in 2002. It's a big show, with plenty to see and plenty of traders to buy from, but it still has the feel of a proper club show rather than a commercial exhibition. It's easy to drive to from pretty much anywhere in the Midlands, just off the M6 and not far from the A50, and it has plenty of free parking on site. Alternatively, Stafford is easy to get to by train, with a free bus shuttle to the show. Just about the only downside is that the weather in Staffordshire in February is almost always pretty grim in one way or another. But then again, if the weather's bad, where better to spend the day than inside a nice warm and dry exhibition hall looking at model railways? You are quite correct the exhibition is totally run by Stafford Railway Circle (est 1957) with no sponsorship with any excess funds ploughed into building new club layouts and running the club. RMweb Premium newbryford Posted December 10, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 10, 2015 What - no George or Nobby? However, plenty of diesel interest - as always. It's in my diary for a day trip down the M6. Cheers, Mick

LNER4479
Very much looking forward to being part of the show and displaying Grantham in even more complete form than at its debut show in September (and a LOT more complete than the pic shown in the OP!). Further detail work is being added all the time. Do say 'hi' if you get the chance...

RMweb Premium ELTEL Posted December 13, 2015 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted December 13, 2015 Hi Bill Yes I saw a couple struggling to leave the car park. It's wet it's rained for 3/4 days so why park with both your traction wheels on the grass and then straight into first gear for a racing start. Carl BR
The Alderford team are gearing up and looking forward to this show. A show that I've really been looking forward to since being booked way back in 2014. Hopefully Jeremy will have finished the repaint of a Trix Class 81 on a Heljan chassis ready in time.
