Go out the station and its about a 10 min walk.

Turn right and follow the wall, over the slip road, keep walking straight ahead and you will see the mechanics institute looming up on the right handside, this is oppositte where the tunnel enterence is,

Through the tunnel,up the slope and is round the corner,

All sign posted once you enter the old Railway Works site

Thanks guys, I'm thinking of coming by train from Cardiff instead of driving.

A real breeze compared with the drive I can assure you....

Walk is not a problem - level and sign-posted.

Chris

For anyone who hasn't visited Swindon since last year, you may notice a few changes. They have been building flats behind the museum. They may have been building last year (I can't remember).

There is also a nice addition currently sat on the traverser, I won't spoil the surprise. Would be nice see you all there and say hello. Looking forward to what I'm sure will be another fantastic event.

Be prepared to be philosophical if Hornby's participation turns out to be 'Starless and Bible Black':drag:

I already am - the latest news from Steam is that Hornby are now predicting delivery in 'late August', the year was not mentioned!  And in my dictionary 'predicted' has a rather different meaning from 'expected'

The first phase of the flats was there last year. I've not been around that what for a while so don't know how far phase two has progressed.

I'd like to make it along myself. The selection of 7mm layouts was excellent last year.

Due to a major date mix up I am driving down on Saturday am so I will be there - but treat me with care as I may be a bit sleepy.

I am hoping to weather some of my own stock but the idea is for you to "have a go"... I will have some bits for you to try out but you can bring your own stock to try out weathering..

I'm looking forward to it too
It's always a nice event, and it's a great location for a show

I'll be there with my Cashmores-based scrapyard
Please note, it isn't O gauge though - it's EM.....
Last year they incorrectly advertised my layout as "Wales, Rails, Rain & Steam"
Not too many complained the layout was full of diesels though :)

Come along & chat fellow rmwebbers
