Popular Post KNP
Normally when you promote a vehicle you ensure you have a great location, something like a stately home along with the vehicle in tip top condition with such a shine on it you can see your face looking back at you. There might also be a pretty model, or two, enhancing the picture to give that glamor appeal.... but here at Valley Promotions we do things differently For stately home read derelict and run down house For condition read dirty, battered and well used For the pretty models.... well, read sheep. 24 1

RMweb Premium Neal Ball Posted August 7, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 7, 2019 Lovely set of photos and for the time, you could imagine someone still living in that house. Maybe some cardboard across one of the broken windows.... Love those traction engines.
Popular Post KNP
These are the leftovers from yesterday which I have just run through affinity. Some work, some have a few problems with 'bleeding' around sharp edges where the background appears. This normally means I'm to close, generally if I back away 50mm or so the problem goes. Anyway here is the first batch...

RMweb Gold Anotheran Posted August 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 7, 2019 My first thought was that the chap sat on the hill had got out as it had broken down so he was waiting for a mate. But if that's the case he left it out of gear and it rolled off down the slope, very dangerous! But in picture three it's rolling itself back up the slope! Fantastic pictures of a really nice model. But it could do with s driver if it's going to do all that moving around Kind regards, Neil 1
RMweb Gold Limpley Stoker Posted August 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 7, 2019 I’m glad it didn’t attempt to cross your occupation bridge....... It certainly looks at home in Little Muddle.
RMweb Gold Harlequin Posted August 7, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 7, 2019 It would be really good fun if these traction engines had motors in them and could sit there quietly idling. Just the flywheel (correct term???) turning would be enough from a distance but the pistons moving would be even better.

But if the vehicle is stationary, a motor could be put under the baseboard with a flexible drive to a small gearbox in the traction engine, or even a rubber band drive concealed between the wheels. 2

Not, of course, a traction engine. It's a ploughing engine and would often have had a partner to be at the other end of the plough cable. 2 1
KNP
Been to the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre today with my grandson Bradley where they had a NCB 0-6-0 loco in steam. Met the train driver getting ready to depart...
KNP
Loco he was driving.....!!!! Then we wandered into the engine workshop and found a clean and pristine looking GWR loco Now, even my grandson could see why this loco, that's the one on the right, was 'out of order'.... I have to say I couldn't explain to him the exact reason for the sign as it looked a bit self explanatory but it made us chuckle. Popular Post KNP
Back to Little Muddle and I have set up some spare trees and shrubs to see what they would look like on the grass by the cottages. Seems to work... but I will leave it there for a few days and see if it 'grows' on me... No pigs or chickens where involved in this!
