Popular Post KNP
The Unicorn PH is back home and though not totally finished (to my eyes) it will remain there whilst I decide what, if any, I need to do next. A couple of iPhone pictures. That whole area has really changed over the last few years and I am pleased with the results. Decision pending on the other pub but I expect I will rebuild it as it is looking a bit dated and faded now…….what it will be well that’s for another day! 26 11

KNP
Before the pub went back. Looks a mess like this but much better with The Unicorn in place. Edited March 28 by KNP
Andrew P
Can you post a first rendition pic from a few years ago, and the current pic in one post as a direct comparison on how the whole area has changed over a few short years please Kevin? 1

Popular Post KNP
Computer on and I've done some trolling back through some 5000 odds photo's I've taken since this layout started in 2008. Since I started posting on here in 2017 not only have my photo technique improved so has the number of pictures taken has seemed to take off as well. So this what I have found. 28 - 02 - 2010 Station building just finished and the corner site building in place - no Goods Shed yet. 28 - 08 - 2011 Originally the corner site building was stone paper but I wasn't a fan from the moment I finished it but decided to park and get on with the rest of the layout first 19 - 10 - 2011 Just to show the original harbour wall line and even back then I made card mock ups to see how a proposed building fitted - and that changed! 24 - 04 - 2013 Fed up with stone effect paper so I painted it with my own version of masonry paint - talcum powder sprinkled on wet paint then over painted again. New entrance porch added and cladding to first floor jut out fitted, path laid to door 14 - 03 - 2017 Just prior to the mass of building works starting - Cathcott Field was a name coined by Stubby47 and I liked it so it stayed. 16 - 06 -2021 And the whole area taken a few moments ago Wow, I knew it had changed a lot but until I bothered to look back through the pictures wasn't aware how much it had changed. I like it so it will be staying......well perhaps....might change the - but that's for another post!!!! So thanks to Andrew P for suggesting this trip down memory lane. RMweb Gold Donw Posted June 16, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 16, 2021 I really like the way the pub sits in the scene. The before and after pictures are great. It is funny how there were concerns about putting houses behind the station. I could not imagine anyone saying lets remove the building an have a field instead now. RMweb Gold Mick Bonwick Posted June 16, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 16, 2021 I rather like the open nature of the original setup. Just a few buildings to support the idea of "Little" Muddle. Maybe you should remove the building and have a field instead. 1
