RMweb Premium rprodgers Posted November 8, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 8, 2018 Latest from Tower - 45xx delayed to 2Q 2019 Had a look on Lionheart web site and FB page nothing mentioned in relation to their exclusive "4549. The initial artwork for this was only posted last Friday on their FB page.
RMweb Premium steam-driven boy Posted November 8, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 8, 2018 Hi, Latest from Tower - 45xx delayed to 2Q 2019 I was certain I'd seen something somewhere about that but couldn't find it to link to. Quite happy to wait a little longer, there's a minor 'perfect storm' underway at the moment of other delayed products surfacing... Regards, Gerry. GNR Dave
According to Dapol at Warley, livery samples are due in January 2019 and release is expected to be in the summer of 2019. For those interested, the 14XX is expected a few months later.
RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted January 28, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 28, 2019 Here are a few snaps of the new 45xx taken through glass yesterday at the Bristol show. As already mentioned in this thread, these are due out later this year. Being bias, I took pics of the GWR livery example. Sorry to the BR boys. Cheers, Ade. 7
dpgibbons
This appears to be the 1920s version. Painted or production samples I wonder? A few things could do with attention before shipping.
fezza
According to Dapol at Warley, livery samples are due in January 2019 and release is expected to be in the summer of 2019. For those interested, the 14XX is expected a few months later. Bristol BOGG leaflet now shows 14xx 3Q 2019 - a full year later than previously stated. So we might get it for Christmas if we are lucky.
RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted January 29, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 29, 2019 I was told this was a sample and they had a few more tweaks to do before final production. Cheers, Ade.
GNR Dave
Good to see some progress Blackened wheels and motion will make a big difference to the final appearance but it's looking good to me as an admittedly non expert when it comes to the GWR
RMweb Premium rprodgers Posted February 15, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 15, 2019 I am assuming that in normal light the green is much darker? Isn't the 4549, Lionheart's exclusive model, depicting a 45xx in the mid to late 1920's before the cab "portholes" were blocked and chimney replaced? Floreat Industria
When I asked at the Dapol stand at Kettering on Saturday I was told it should be available within the next 6 months. 1

Welsh Signaller
According to the chaps at Telford the models are having internal issues in China so will be delayed into Ned year - at least it gives us more time between these and the 14XX. The one they had on display did look stunning though - going to be worth the wait. 1
7007GreatWestern
Here's my (admittedly not great) photo of the forthcoming Dapol 45xx seen at Telford yesterday (31st August). Thanks to the Dapol team for opening their display case and allowing me to take this close-up shot of the model. As mentioned by 'Welsh Signaller' these will probably NOT be available until 2020 according to Dapol. 5

RMweb Premium rprodgers Posted January 17, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 17, 2020 All seems quiet on this.... In the last advert for the 45xx I saw it was saying it included die cast parts ....does anyone know which parts which still be die cast ...for instance is it a plastic body as I thought the 48xx will be?
RMweb Gold Adrian Stevenson Posted January 17, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 17, 2020 I believe the body will be die cast. Cheers, Ade.

Welsh Signaller
Yes still diecast to the original lionhesrt spec.
Marshall5
Actually the "original" Lionheart version was etched brass. The currently awaited 45xx is Lionheart's 'budget' version, similar chassis but die cast body in order to cut costs. Ray.
