Nice photo's Andy, dont blame you going back again, the O gauge layout looks great, it looks a lot like an Ian Futers layout albeit extended, do you know if that's the case?

Steve.

Built by Ian, sold to Chris Nevard for an article in MR, then bought by this chap and extended again, according to the Show Guide.

Ian Holdsworth came around on his way home from DEMU with George T, and he brought along his Rat 25313 to join my two, SUPERB.

An early start before a visit to the Funeral Directors this morning, and so a start has been made on weathering the Loco Fleet.

So far it's just powders diluted with Acrylic thinners and mainly washed off to leave dirt behind hand Rails etc and streaking where requires.

First I masked up the windscreens.

IMG_8061.JPG.46c4ce9fec570be8757004e66eeb8e5c.JPG

Then sorted out the powders and wash etc.

IMG_8062.JPG.26f78b0423c67367888c220eaf3c2bb4.JPG

More washes later then it will be out with the Air Brush for a dusting etc.

Then apply a heavy wash of wet powder.

IMG_8063.JPG.d75a6f954094c42294de6c983b0d7a3d.JPG

Then wash off a bit.

IMG_8064.JPG.d2c2bcc255a6de3bd911c3ff22ca041c.JPG

Then wipe down with a cotton bud.IMG_8065.JPG.7b53f2037d47d4cbdb7eb75edff41fd6.JPG

And clean with a damp brush or tissue.

IMG_8066.JPG.e3b3edc662333c2abd891b6dda8550aa.JPG

Same for the door recess's.

IMG_8068.JPG.3045f563cd13fcdb1257a77003e6c98d.JPG

And add some Rust.

I trust you are lifting the rust off the class 47, as the cabs are aluminium

No wonder it’s so heavy.

Off topic a bit but how do people generally pick up their locos (without getting finger prints everywhere, or breaking something)?
