Size guide - need for a sticky post?

Should posts about a new 4ft x 13” total size layout go here (as a micro) or in the general layout topics? It is a shunting yard inglenook layout in OO.

Edit was for a spelling error

I asked Andy to create this section as I was making a boxfile layout and thought it would get lost in fhe general layout build area.

There is no real limit on layout sizes, scale has a big influence, it's more what the builder feels is appropriate.

Personally I consider 5 sq ft to be the maximum. I exhibit several micros & I use this guideline for a number of reasons; easy to store, can be carried comfortably by one person, & fits in the majority of cars for transport to shows.

I tend to view the 6 square feet thing as a guideline rather than a hard-and-fast rule. My personal opinion, and I stress that this is my opinion alone, is that it's a question of whether your layout is smaller than the norm for your gauge/scale. 4' by 1" in 00 isn't a lot to play with, but it's pretty decent in 009.
