d00m
I got an Email. Hornby train packs. Why would they do the new style 4 wheel coaches + a Terrier in GWR livery?
RMweb Gold Markwj Posted October 15, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 15, 2021 Well to be fair I wouldn’t know it was wrong and if it appealed to me (and was cheap enough) I would buy it, probably trying to shift slow moving stock.
RMweb Gold DaveF Posted October 15, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 15, 2021 Two Terriers were sold to the Weston Clevedon and Portishead Railway. They ended up being owned by the GWR. David 1
Ruffnut Thorston
Hornby Train Packs…. Don't count on any resemblance to real life. E.G. BR locos with Private Owner coal wagons, and no Brake Van… Tri-ang in the 1950s at least included a Brake Van, and except for the very early sets with NE and GW liveried wagons, were all in BR livery…. RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted October 16, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 16, 2021 Just Google WC&P Terriers and you'll find tons of info.

I don't have anything specific about the WC&P handy, most of what little I know about it has come from the web. I think the two posts I've quoted below sum up the best approach to finding out more. 1 hour ago, Oldddudders said: Just Google WC&P Terriers and you'll find tons of info. 1 hour ago, JohnR said: Here are some of the details of the two Terriers that went into GWR ownership via the WCPR. https://wcpr.org.uk/No2_PortisheadTerrier.html https://wcpr.org.uk/No4.html David
ColinW
When Hornby brought out the 4 & 6 wheel coaches, I thought that pairing them with the new Terrier would be a great train pack. However I would have thought that doing an LBSCR, Southern mainland, Southern IoW or BR set, would have been better than a GWR set Colin Edited October 17, 2021 by ColinW Spelling

One of the best photos of it is here. https://sremg.org.uk/steam/a1-a1x.shtml To be fair. The GWR is by far the most popular railway. That's coming from someone who is much more LMS. Not in this case. It was amongst the first items announced when they announced the coaches. The livery of the coaches isn't available elsewhere so they aren't left over stock. I had a pre-order for it at Hattons. Subsequently cancelled, but I'm not really bothered to be honest. I only wanted the Terrier. Sold out at most retailers. So I don't think you'll be getting many bargains. Jason
