Digitrains

I've had limited dealings with Digitrains - mainly at exhibitions - but had to order from them online.I placed an order late of Friday night, and got a very apologetic email early on saturday saying that one of the items was out of stock, and had been for a long time. Slightly disappointed, I read on.

They explained that a much cheaper, better and smaller alternative (the Tam Valley Booster) was available, and explained its functions. Out of ignorance I didn't know this product existed and readily agreed to the substiution. The amended order was confirmed in another email and delivery advised to be by 1st class post on Tuesday (today).

Well, the package has just arrived. I've not had chance to test anything yet but everything is well packed and looks good. Excellent service by Digitrains and Royal Mail.

I have had quite a few dealings with Digitrains recently, by phone, internet and exhibhition. They provided me with good advice on DCC equipment and wiring and I altered my wiring diagram on their suggestions. The two station boards are now wired up following their advice and everything works well.

Recently I needed to control 6 points in the fiddle yard currently under construction.I went to their stand at Wigan show, explained what I wanted to achieve and they suggested a way of doing it which was cheaper than my own idea. I bought the bits off them, hope to get installed later this week.

So I am a happy Digitrans customer, but I do use other suppliers too, including Arcadia Models of Shaw.

My NCE PowerCab and DCC fuse arrangement came from them and with an excellent delivery service. I discussed my requirements for point motor automation with them at an exhibition and they recommended an alternative to my selection. Had they had enough devices to fulfil my needs at that show, I would have bought them. They are too far away from me to visit or regard as a local model shop but both my nearest shops specialise more in other fields so I do tend to buy on-line.

The only issue I have with Digitrains is that, in this case, they are notably more expensive than a nearby supplier and with 26 motors required, the cost saving is significant. They get 4 stars from me, lower pricing would get the final one!

I have had a few delaings with them at shows and have always been impressed by the way they operate. We recomend them when on the road with the layout for people wanting to go DCC beacuse of all the difference controllers they have - a real try before you buy set up, bought a Zimo sound chip from them at York show at Easter and it was done in 30mins. They even once talked themselves out of £500 worth of sales because they told us to try driving on the touchcab app as opposed to buying 2 ESU radio controllers.

Last week I made an enquire to Digitrains by email, within minutes I received a email from them telling me all about the product I wanted. After speaking to Jeremy and Chris on different occasions I decided to go ahead and purchase the ECoS Command Stn. I received it within 2 days, Brilliant service all round from Digitrains. Will certainly deal with this company again. :D

I visited once, when they had the shop at home, south of Lincoln.

I was made welcome, given coffee, loads of advice and time to try out everything I wanted to, with zero pressure to buy anything at all.

Highly recommended.

In fact, some kit manufacturers might take note.

10/10 and will definitely use again....just as well for my bank balance I no longer work in Lincoln!

I have wanted a new DCC control system for a while after breaking my eLink. Having researched my options i was still undecided but was heading towards an NCE Powercab. Having visited the digitrains website several times and having read about their test track i felt i had to make a visit. I was in lincoln today so made a visit to the shop. I was greeted instantly in a polite, friendly manner, which was refreshing to say the least. After explaining my situation the friendly staff (unfortunately i didnt catch their names, sorry) instantly powered up their test layout and placed the powercab in my hand. The staff were very knowledgeable and answered every question posed and demonstrated what they were saying on the equipment. I had a good hands on play with the powercab and after about an hour in the store playing/learning and browsing their extensive stock i walked away the happy owner of a shiney new powercab. Its just a shame i have to wait until my birthday to install it :(

So, basically, this shop is a one stop DCC shop with all the help you could ever require given by polite, informative people, and at no point were there any pushy sales pitches, just clear advice.

5 stars all around.

Just like to say thanks to Digitrains for a rapid service once again. I orders some speakers on Thursday evening and were posted Friday 18h and I have received them this morning here in Ireland.  I have no connection with the company whatsoever, only as a very satisfied customer.

I just had four locos fitted with sound by them for not much more than the price of the decoders/speakers.  They offer a really excellent service.

Dealt with said company at York Show just gone about the Digitrax Super Chief which i've had my eyes on for "too many years". They said pop round and they'll show me the system on their test circuit so I drove over to Lincoln today (road-work manic town today), dropped in off-spec and asked them to show me the system - Jeremy gave me a demo of the super chief and most of it's main functions, so I came away with everything I need including the power pack. Overall great experience. Good selection of other stuff available as well. Will certainly use them again in the future.
