RMweb Premium AdeMoore Posted January 14, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 14, 2020 Bearing in mind the time it must take to put your YouTube videos together hardly surprising you don’t have time to update often here! Can only agree with Al brilliant stuff. Enjoy your channel to. Cheers Ade 2

Popular Post richard w
Been busy ballasting & weathering. Going for much less weathering here compared to the bay platform. I've added a few drain covers and will also be adding further litter. The platforms themselves have been made using celotex with a layer of card over the top. I've then skimmed the top with filler and sanded. For now it's just in a basic grey which will do for now as I progress with other bits around the station. Happy with how things are going. Long way to go yet but it's great to finally have something that looks like a station! Edited February 2, 2020 by richard w 42 6
CazRail
Looks very good, particularly like the part lifted line along side the bay platform. Also the 'cleaner-than-the-ballast' concrete sleepers, which isn't modelled too often.
Departmental203
Fantastic job, Richard, can't wait to see your next update video. Weathering looks spot on in my opinion Good luck! Jules

Popular Post richard w
Managed to finish up the edit for the video concerning the platforms this week. I covered the process from start to finish as usual including the track weathering. I'm making a start on the station building now. Its going to take me ages but I'll post on here as when I make progress with it. Cheers 15 1 2
Popular Post richard w
Spent the last two months working on my mk2 coaches. I bought some new nse mk2s in January and they certainly showed up the flaws in my existing mk2s that I'd repainted into NSE. So I took the decision to strip the paint off them and start again. Along the way I also ended up repainting the interiors a more convincing colour and added figures to each coach. Took a long time, very pleased with the results. I can't recommend painting 450 figures though! Video concerning the project is in the usual place. Most of it was filmed before the pandemic in the UK ramped up. I've addressed it briefly at the beginning of the video as I thought it would be remiss of me not to mention it. I am well and so is the family, I hope the same applies to you. I am currently at home following the Government advice. I am unable to work from home so am on leave without pay. I have serious concerns for the future of the small company I work for. Please be respectful in the comments. I've already had to delete some from people who claim they've had it worse and all this is a joke. Look after yourselves, take care 17 9
RMweb Gold Alister_G Posted March 28, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 28, 2020 Your massed passengers obviously never heard of social distancing... But blimey Richard, I don't envy you painting that lot, at all! Cracking job mate. Al. 1 2
Popular Post richard w
Forgot to mention I also added lights to all the coaches. If any of you have the unlit Bachmann mk2fs its very easy to add lights to those as they have pickups fitted from the factory. I've fitted a single DCC Concepts wiper pickup to the mk2as and so far this has worked fine as I'm using quite large capacitors for the anti flicker. 21
Milepost 15
Hi Richard, You did a really nice job on these coaches. I'm not sure how you get stuff done so quickly. This would be about a years worth of work for me... Anyway, I wanted to say thanks for all the info you've posted about lighting in this video and in previous ones. It's been helpful as I start to sort out some of my own passenger equipment. I hope your company is able to weather the current situation and you're able to get back to work soon. I started following your progress on the Granada awhile back and was looking forward to seeing some video of it on the road this summer. - Chris www.milepost15.com
richard w
Thanks Chris. The Granada is coming on very well. Obviously I'm not able to work on it at present but I remain hopeful of getting it on the road this year. You can follow Granada progress on the below link. I've documented everything I've done to it over the past 4 years. https://autoshite.com/topic/25964-1975-ford-granada-coupe-1023-hours-of-work-rebuilding-all-the-mechanical-bits/

A model that was much more popular in Germany. Sobering to think that it is 45 years old.

RMweb Premium AdeMoore Posted April 2, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 2, 2020 Richard a fabulous video I don’t know how you manage it! 2 hours a night you mentioned some dedication that and an understanding wife/partner assuming you have one! Seen mention of your Granada before but not the thread, so timely that to read and I’m well in to that now! Your days must have 36 hrs in them compared to us mere mortals managing on 24 hrs! stay safe. Cheers Ade 1
Baby Deltic
Hi Richard, Those Mark 2’s looked superb. You really raised the bar there and I’ll bet painting all those figures and interiors was like pulling teeth. Do you have a link to the source of the smaller more ‘scaled’ figures please? Stay well and keep yourself safe Lloyd Edited April 2, 2020 by Baby Deltic

Cheers Ade My thoughts exactly, I barely get time to do a bit of weathering once every couple of months these days. Not ideal. As for the layout, the track is looking superb, however, any reason that you didn't take a crack at handbuild points at least for the visible sections of the layout? It's not a critisism I just hate Peco points with a passion and it seems a shame to use them when the rest of the track is so good.
