Good Evening all

Here is the latest update.  I have finished spraying all the lines so I thought I would look to build the concrete pas for one of the sheds.  The pad is made out of herculite and once set I sprayed it with weathered concrete.

I'm still not brave enough or sure how to fill the centres so ideas are welcome

Nik

Looking very nice, If you want to fill in the centre of the track you could get some length's of scrap rail and glue it alongside each running rail to give a groove for the flange to run in, then just fill in the middle with whatever you made the pad out of.

Hi Delticman,

I've just finished reading your thread from the beginning, and it is absolutely superb. Your stock collection is simply phenomenal, and two parts in particular really piqued my interest. Firstly, the collection of DRS locos really do look fantastic, and must have cost a pretty penny!

Secondly, the sandite / RHTT train looks incredible. I would love to have the skills to build one myself, or even find someone who I could trust enough to build such a fantastic model as yours! I would be really thankful if you could point me in their direction!

I'll be following with interest,

Andy

Hi All

I have managed to do a bit more to the layout including some ballasting and an extension to the concrete pad where the shed sits (photos to follow) .  I have also found the roof for the shed but it needs a bit more repair work but overall it's slowly starting to take place.

Also a nice item arrived in the shape of a ECoS system which has already wowed me it terms of what it can do.

Please feel free to comment on what you see.

Regards

Nik

Right following some painting and ballasting and a bit of a play adding some bits and pieces the depot is taking shape at last.  There is a long way to go but it starting to feel more like a depot now.

The next task is build the retaining walls and and some greenery and weathering

Wow!!

How did you do the wall between the mainline and the depot?

I love the 'before and after' shots - concrete pad - to stunning, detailed depot, in one photo ! :)

Just a bit more modelling done so far so I thought I would take a few more pictures of locos on the layout so far.  31601 and 60059 are both repaints from Jon G at Peakdale the 31 being sound.

Although it feels slow at points the pictures are starting to show the sort of scenes im lookinf for.

Also 47974 waits it's path for the triangle down the helix

Good Evening

Managed to get ballasting and weathering done but also managed to add some greenery and a mobile tower.

Also took a couple of photos of the shed and some locos.

Nik

hate to be picky, but,

the mast for the mobile phone antennas looks great, but it needs some sort of equipment cabinet at the bottom to house all the radio kit that would be connected to all those antennas.

Also, how would the maintainer get to the site?

brilliant depot scene BTW. :)
