Good evening, everyone. Firstly, thank you, Mick, for that photo’ of Gilberdyke Junction box. I went past it on the train to York last Thursday, and there’s still an orange jacket hung up inside it.

 

 Now for an update about Beverley Station footbridge. I took some photo’s of it today, and, as can be seen, the work is progressing well on it.

Inside Gylberdyke Jct, mid '80's

Now, this evening, courtesy of John Turner, and Peter Brumby, on Flickr, we are seeing Doncaster shed's Thompson B1, 4-6-0, 61042, is working very hard as it heads an up train of 16T mineral wagons through Brough on its way from Hull, in about January, 1966.

Another dawdle around Driffield. I don't know the name of this crossing (Sunderlandwick maybe) but it's the one south of Skerne Road and takes a public bridleway across the line. A 155 passes on its way from York to Bridlington.   Back in the day this service would have been more direct (Pocklington, Market Weighton, Driffield) though nowhere near as frequent as today's service taking the lengthy route via Selby and Hull.

Quite possibly 'Skerne Leys' at 18m 36c. Shown as a Bridleway crossing in the LNE Xings database I have a copy of (sorry, I can't share the database).
