On this idea of voting does each loco have to reach 100% before started if so is there a figure set for the 100% mark

As my thinking is it may not reach that figure

Missed it as it sold before I got in from work. I'll just have to hope 97201 gets enough votes and I can get resprayed into green. Mind if a loco does have to reach 100% it is looking unlikely any will at the last figures.

Seems a bit negative given SLW have expressed surprise at how many votes some locos have already.

Not negative it's a question

How many votes to reach 100% that's all

I am nothing but impressed with SLW CLASS 24

You and your green 24s, norm. Honestly, can't you recognise a smart livery when you see one?!  :jester:  :jester:

I'm surprised people are already saying that the models may not make it to 100%

The vote has only been open for 22 days and a couple of them made it quarter of the way in a few days! It's not even been in the modelling press yet either. Given the fact that SLW themselves were surprised at the number of votes so quickly, it shows that they didn't expect anything to get that far in a short space of time. You can't expect a vote that has so far only been seen by previous customers, RMweb regulars and some customers at a single show for less than one month to give immediate 100% figures on some models. Give it time!

Hi Art,

You can adjust top speed with CV57. The project default value is 100. Reduce this value to reduce top speed without affecting the sound project in any way. (Use this in preference to CV5).

Alternatively, don't turn the throttle up so far. LOL.

You can reduce the volume directly with F key 27 without having to reprogramme CV266.

(Use F key 28 to increase volume).

Kind regards,

Paul

Many thanks Paul

Rgds, Art

I haven't been in the cab of any of the others though...

It's an ipad photo of a photo, under that cellophaney stuff in old photo albums, that was taken on a film camera with the wheel you had to turn after every shot!

As for the voting, I cannot find the current vote results as of today anywhere on rail exclusive or slw websites. I guess they could be going up but I don't know about it.

The vote so far.......

That's 127%.

I know SLW gives us a lot more, even giving 110% in 'The Apprentice' speak, but 127% shows they are working harder than I could imagine!

I think it might be votes rather percentage that the numbers show.

I'm not picking holes in things, just my maths and English kicking in. It was seeing that all the percentages had increased made me think 'hold on'.

As for the loco, I am absolutely delighted with my D5000, just wish I could afford more of them at the moment.

Itis the percentage of the votes needed to make that particular model viable.

It's been said here that the % relates to the number of votes needed per item for production to go ahead. It's not the % the item has from all votes cast.

So item D has 30% of votes it needs to be put into production not 30% of he votes cast overall.

To explain simply, for arguments sake the run of locos to make it viable to produce is 100. Loco 'D' has had 30 expressions of wish to purchase (votes). So it is 30% of the way to be produced, once 100 people vote it will be produced. Of course 100 isn't the real figure but you get the gist.

I appreciate that this is still in its early stages, and it's really good to see a manufacturer engaging with its customer base in this way, but what would happen if none of the projected models made it to the 100% needed for production to start?

I would guess SLW would decide whether any had sufficient votes to make it look still worth taking a punt and get it made.

The poll or 'The Great Sulzer Sign-up' will be advertised in a few magazines soon so will get a lot more exposure. I think quite a few of those loco choices will reach 100%.

This is what SLW say on their Facebook page.

LATEST VOTING - FULLY UPDATED (May 5th)

Greens on a surge... Research still strong...

These are the latest standings:

Loco A - Blue SYWP: 7% (+1%)
Loco B - Two-tone Green SYWP: 12% (+2%)
Loco C - Blue FYE, ScR: 11% (+1%)
Loco D - RTC Red/Blue: 30% (+4%)
Loco E - Standard Green SYWP: 11% (+2%)
Loco F - Green FYE, TOPS: 10% (+1%)
Loco G - Highland Green SYWP: 18% (+4%)
Loco H - Highland Blue FYE: 28% (+3%)

The voting has obviously slowed compared to the initial burst of activity, however the numbers continue to grow steadily and are well above our expectations at this early stage. We envisage increased activity when the the 'The Great Sulzer Sign-up' sees wider exposure shortly, via a number of specialist magazines.

Selections are following a generally similar pattern to previous updates although in the last fortnight there has obviously been increased interest in green locos, notably B, E & G. C'mon, where are you Blue supporters?

Please continue to spread the word and encourage as many people as possible to express interest in these prospective models.

Have a nice weekend.

Are the "Blue supporters" waiting/wanting TOPS numbering?

I know I am.

'C' is a useful loco as it can be renumbered to several others with the discs centred.
