It’s a good bet there will be chocolate biscuits this week! Promises to be a good evening. I shall be taking some models over and talking a bit about the reasons for closure, including the myth of a Western Region conspiracy. David, who was a teenage spotter in March 1966 and was at Green Park on the last day, will talk about his memories of the day. Julian Peters, (son of Ivo) has dropped in copies of the new DVD release and we will be showing a short excerpt of Ivo's S&D footage and we will have at least one exS&D engine man (a Gas Cupboard regular) who can be counted on to contribute with lively tales of doing battle with the Mendips. All that and chocolate biscuits - what's not to like! Jerry

Andy Y
Thanks to Dave and everyone who came to the Gas Cupboard do last night; a really enjoyable evening (and especially the pints in Wetherspoons afterwards!). I have found a helpful map of Trowbridge's traffic system for future visits. That's right, it's not possible to get from one point to another without breaching at least one traffic sign, I just took the least punitive (as many others seem to do too). RMweb Premium Tim Dubya Posted May 13, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 13, 2016 I have found a helpful map of Trowbridge's traffic system for future visits. Glad you found the simplified version, Harry Beck wasn't available... PS: There are hotels in Trowvegas? PPS: Sorry of course there are - the Isaac Ptman with en-suite accommodation outside... PPPS: Is that you and yer bird on the right popping 'out' for Kebab over the road? OK, enough...

RMweb Gold queensquare Posted May 13, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 13, 2016 Twas indeed an excellent night at the Gas Cupboard. To be fair Andy, I think you have rather simplified that map! Just to prove that New York, Chicago and Amarillo are not the only towns to have songs dedicated to them, here's Hugh Cornwall's ode to Trowbridge Jerry
