Ronald48
Yesterday I started building the long trestle. It will be build in one piece allthough it spans 2 modukles. Ozexpatriate
My wife loves scenery and she made the first H0 scale tree: 20161009_103152 by Ronald-45, on Flickr That's quite a fabulous looking tree. I'm not sure if you are shooting for the appearance of the Douglas Fir. The Douglas Fir is ubiquitous in Oregon (west of the Cascades) and no tree says "Oregon" to me more than the Doug Fir. We even have them on our licence plate and they are used by the "Cascadia" regional separatist movement. They are a bit more straggly and less bushy than your tree, particularly at the top. I'm sure I can come up with photos if you like.

Ronald48
@Michael; yes please @Ray; it is as Mick says. The 2 modules will be attached to each other. The layout will do some shows short after another so it is better this way for damage etc. After that I will consider the break-up and alignment of the bridge Thanks guys for you input! I'm sure I can come up with photos if you like. @Michael; yes please Ronald, Everywhere I look I see Douglas Firs. It's been an odd experience trying to find one to photograph. They are literally everywhere you look, but I can't find one i like. It's actually hard to get a good picture of one, they really like to stick together (it's sort of their thing, naturally they reproduce by dropping cones) plus it's been raining non-stop all week, and sunset is earlier now too. I did snap these when the sun came out yesterday. They're pretty representative. They're hard to model. Sometimes branches point up slightly, and sometimes they hang down. Sometimes they're really straggly, and sometimes they are more bushy. Introducing some deliberate asymmetry will capture their 'look' well. I'll see if I can find a good solo tree - weather and daylight permitting.
Zomboid
That is some spectacular model engineering. Hard to tell from pictures, but I suspect it really captures the scale of these kind of structures.

Ronald48
Hello guys, I'm behind on my topic..... forgot the last photo's. On the 25th of October we did some stuff. I did the left side: 20161026_111619 by Ronald-45, on Flickr My wife did the right side: 20161026_111644 by Ronald-45, on Flickr She build the trees in some weeks and we planted them in 15 minutes.... but worth the effort! On the 27th we drove to the expo in Utrecht and set up the layout. Front: 20161027_195500 by Ronald-45, on Flickr And back: 20161027_195525 by Ronald-45, on Flickr It is always a sort of puzzle when you set it up for the first time but it went on fairly easy. Staisfied we returned home that night. After that we had the 3-day show called "Eurospoor" in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht in the Netherlands. The respons was very good and we drew a lot of attention. I also had it showed in a Dutch forum so a lot of these viewers came by. Problems: a few but managable. The turnouts on the round modules didn't put up to their expectations. They need to be replaced by curved turnouts. Further we experienced problems on the 3rd day with the usb connection between my Windows 10 laptop and the Lan/usb interface from Lenz. We will change this connection by Lan cable, that way it seems the connection between the system and laptop will be sturdier. A guy here in Holland called Dirk makes a lot of Youtube movies of our layouts and he also made one of Cushman: And some pics of the setup on the show: DSCN7085 by Ronald-45, on Flickr With train: DSCN7088 by Ronald-45, on Flickr The back of the layout: DSCN7093 by Ronald-45, on Flickr The Lenz central unit with boosters: DSCN7091 by Ronald-45, on Flickr The laptop with the itrain switchboard. A few things need to be fixed and some stuff still isn't finished. Coming week I will do that so that the layout will be representable for Warley. We also will put more trees and bushes on it: 20161111_151403 by Ronald-45, on Flickr To this point I want to thank everybody for following me.
