All went well during the set-up for the show Friday afternoon. Glad to hear that you got your layout in dry LyttonCPR (Alastair?). Good day today plenty of visitors who all enjoyed the show hopefully. I am helping to operate Hazel Valley and I looked at watch at opening time to see visitors coming into hall 2 then next time I looked it was 11 o'clock the time flew by!

Enjoyed the show this morning. Got in early so was able to have a good look around, but getting busy by the time I left. Probably overspent, but so what?

Layout quality was good as usual. I never tire of Hazel Valley, the cyclist on Grime Street is a little gem, interesting to see Okeford after having previously seen it part-built, Catenary very effecive on Acton Parkway, etc,  etc.

Will be back for the next Open Day.

Thanks for the nice comments re Grime Street chaps......We had a very enjoyable weekend down in 'sunny Stockport', well looked after by the club and a really nice show to do, never made it there as a visitor in the past as it has always clashed with something else, but definitely one in the diary to visit as a paying punter in the future.

A good show this weekend, some really nice layouts (even if I didn't have a good look around), along with useful traders too. Arley Dale behaved itself on only its second outing, as did most of the stock. I will however make no apologies for sticking 3 class 60s on the front at various points throughout Sunday! Must get cracking with Bank Quay so the stock can stretch its legs again.

Thanks for the kind comments so far. Although I don't have any final figures it felt to me as a member of the society to be our best ever and a super way of celebrating the club's 50th anniversary. Thanks to all of the layout exhibitors, traders and demonstrators for coming this weekend to make the show what it was. And thanks too to all of the Hazel Grove members doing what ever was needed to make the show happen before, during and after. It was a bit of a close run thing at 6pm as the 5-a-side footballers (Man. Utd.?) were very eager to get into the sports hall!

A very good exhibition with a lot of top quality layouts.  Grime Street and Wansbeck Road stood out.  Wansbeck road as "understated", not too much going on and no bright in your face colours.

Glad it was a success.  The mix of trade was generalist with no highly specialist kitmakers etc.  Those seem to be concentrating on a few shows.

Thanks for the comments Crantock. We have not had any specialist traders at our show for a good few years now. We had Shawplan when Graham Shaw owned the business plus Express Models and Unit Models but the feedback was although they enjoyed the weekend tradewise they took well under what they were expecting. Hence the decision to stick with more general traders plus the tools and book dealers.

Cheers Paul

Hi

Just a quick note from another happy customer.  Thought it was a great show this year - really good range of layouts modern, steam, scales etc.  It would be great to think that the club could put on something similar next year it gave the exhibition a real lift this year.  I hope you had lots of visitors and that it worked out well for the club.

Thanks again
