RMweb Premium ullypug Posted March 14, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 14, 2010 Looking forward to this one. Haven't been to the Epsom & Ewell show since I went operating Karl Crowther' Kentside. Looks to be a good selection of layouts and traders, apart from some dodgy old Cornish clay thing... RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted April 17, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 17, 2010 NESCOT was called Ewell Tech in my day, or, as one schoolmate dubbed all such establishments, a College of Advanced Tomfoolery! For anyone who doesn't know, it's right by Ewell East station (LBSCR), so very easy for access by train.

KevinWalsh
Claude, if you remember please pop over to HORTON REGIS and say hi to Ian Hopkins (one of the Uckfield club members) he's the bald guy who made the railcar that runs on Horton (I think he used to be a member of the group that made the layout). RMweb Premium ullypug Posted April 23, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 23, 2010 The car's loaded. Departure shortly after lunch. Ah the joys of the M4 and M25 on a Friday. What could go wrong? Looking forward to this one. Hope to see a few RM Webbers there, at least the ones not making their way in the opposite direction to the Taunton members day! ANT
Hello Just got back from a vary enjoyable time at the show. Thanks to David Bigcheeseplant for the lift there and back For me I liked the layouts Whatlington, a layout based in East Sussex, 3mm, with EMUs and 33s in green. Also Highbury Colliery, a 2mm layout based on a typical North Somerset colliery might have looked in the 1920s Well done to all who organised the show. Thanks SEEYA ANT
Highlandman
As always have just been to a good show put on by Epsom & Ewell. A good selection of layouts and traders. I was even tempted to purchase a C&L point kit to see if I could do it or not. Talk about jump in at the deep end. Thank you to all those exhibitors who took the time to talk and who let me take some photographs. I look forward to next year. Here are some pictures of the show. RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted April 25, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 25, 2010 I can only agree with Andy, a very good and a very friendly show thankyou all. We backed onto Mark and Portchullin and all we needed was to nick the sofa from the canteen and it would have been perfect. Lots of room infront and behind the layout for us. Superb show for modern stuff with Portchullin & Wheal Elizabeth for the earlier period, Coppell for the 80's and Craigs, Park Road for the bang up to date bits. With those and the varied steam layouts it would have been impossible to pick a best layout. The Epsom boys also organised a meal at the Carvery which a few of us went to Saturday night and we discovered Craig is as mad as us with G scale displays too, hope you get home safe that's a long drive after a busy day. Good photos too Andy.
