enginelane
That’s it for today, a start made on the side wall. Have enough window frames to make 2 more windows.
enginelane
Basic outline with all windows and headers in place. Looks suitably a house of God.
enginelane
Need to test fit against the backscene at club rooms to ensure the roof angles are correct . Decided to add a return wall at the end of the building to make it look more complete.

enginelane
If you plan on doing any interior wait till I get back as someone who as brought up Methodist I can probably give you a few hints.Jamie Test fitted it on the layout and is big. Issue is that there is a large fronted building that runs down from the chapel to the level, crossing and if make to right size will take up,space of the yet to be built signal box. Compression will be needed!
enginelane
Taking a rest from drilling and filing out doors and windows. House in photo is too large to fit in the space so it’s become more an upmarket cottage than house but should at least leave room for the level crossing signal box.
enginelane
Front doors and windows added using York Modelmaking products - other manufacturers are available
enginelane
No Willis roof sheet in stock box so back to Slaters roofing strips. Steep roof but going to have attic windows added
enginelane
Test fitted house and chapel onto layout and created paper template from which to install buildings and create garden etc. Leaves enough space towards the level crossing for the missing signal box

enginelane
Decided on the layout of the back garden, using up a shed from the spares box, attic windows to add to roof and of course order more windows! enginelane
Been off line for a while but starting to pick things up again. Progress on Stanley has been a little slow over the past few months but platform base cut out and foundations forcststion buildings routed out. Fiddleyard baseboard cutting list has been produced and the layout is still to debut at Wakefield 2018.
enginelane
Applied paint but in this hot weather it was drying on the brush! Roof details, curtains etc to add but enough progress made to take back to club rooms this evening for a test fit
enginelane
Sauna conditions in the club rooms this evening somdid not stay too long. Church and manse fitted into place. Brought back hedging and fencing to modify and paint at home

enginelane
It appears that J50 68959 was Shed bashed in March 1958 at Ardsley so puts it nicely in the frame for summer of 1958. Model even has the right shed plate so my contribution to the Loco stock for Stanley will be this.
enginelane
Reading through reviews and researching images and it seems that the most major omission is the lifting holes near the smokebox and the rest will be adding a decoder, crew and weathering. For this period at least then no vac pipes etc needed
enginelane
Weathering on J50 complete, lifting holes to drill out. Requires Loco crew and ready for running on Stanley. Little to be changed as Ardsley shed plate and number already and on shed summer of 1958. Fiddle yard boards complete with point laying and track in the near future. Fiddleyard to be a common user set up that other layouts in the future can use.
enginelane
Remembered from the days of never finished Engine Lane had a 8F which was being up graded with Brassmaster parts. Now located said engine and I think the right bits so will finish as 48123 which was a Royston engine but did travel Leeds way. Another engine for Stanley.

enginelane
Needs a crew and some more coal, fire irons adding but ready to roll. That concludes my contribution to the Stanley Loco shed. J50 8F WD 2 8 0. Will have to sort out some wagons for the locos to pull
enginelane
Spoke too soon as normal Bank Holiday weather meant had another look through boxes and can offer a 04 and a Class 101 to the roster if required.
