Fiddleyard boards constructed and ready to lay track. Morning spent roughing in the level crossing and finally adding some ground cover to the bare foam. Had some of the Metcalf self adhesive pavement slabs so spent some time laying a path

No idea why the last 4 images are on their side!

Stanley Station circa 1960. Taken from the family records. Our Great Aunt, Emma Davies, continued to live at 103 Bottomboat Road till late 1970s - she died just short of her 90th birthday.

Paternal Grandfather worked at Stanley as a signalman from 1912 till moving his family to his home town of Peterborough in 1923-5 (they didn't all go at once).

Glad you like the pictures. The young boy - my younger brother - is now 65.

I intend to make a special trip to Wakefield in November to see your model of Stanley.

Are you going to include any vestiges of the Lake Lock Railroad?

You will made most welcome. Regarding Lake Lock Railroad I will ask when I am at the club rooms on Monday. Currently making a representation of the signal box as an etched windows are being used to create a model of the real signal box but that might not make it for the show.

Rainy morning so headed off to club rooms for an early morning shift. Rhubarb vans parked up in their sidings awaiting their last call for duty. More weathering to be done on them.

Sleeper strip glued into place on level crossing and platform edges completed. Chris completed the scenic section by the bridge and attached front fascia pieces.

After burning the never ending pot of midnight oil Stanley made it to the Wakefield 2019 show. Visitor comments were very positive and it generated a lot of local interest. I did manage to miss a number of people who had travelled up to specially see it but thank you for coming and I hope you agree that the members had done justice with the information , images etc you had supplied.

Stanley will now have a period of gremlin bashing just to iron out one or two wrinkles and we hope that it will be appearing at shows over the coming years.

Took opportunity of Stanley being up from a club running evening and gave WD 04 and 101 a chance to get some running time in as normally only used on a very short end to end.

04 needs chassis easing as very noisy but otherwise trundled along very nicely.
