298
Will be helpful for my car float layout being built at the moment. Just as long as you include a Foss Tug- as a rule if they don't operate in the area you're interested in then it's not worth modelling. I think the one in the photo is the Justine Foss. There's another topic on here with some more information on North American car float operation - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/27189-us-car-float-operation/?hl=%2Bcar+%2Bfloat+%2Boperation As Martin has said, Alaska is served by ocean-going barges from Seattle, and also a route connecting with CN at Prince Rupert in British Columbia - http://www.railpictures.net/showphotos.php?train_id=CN%20Aqua%20Train
Mike Kieran
The New York Dock Ry, Brooklyn East District Terminal, New York Cross Harbor, and New York New Jersey Rail all have loaded locomotives on the car floats. I, myself, have witnessed them loading NW2 #59 onto the car float for transport to The Greenville Yard (Jersey City). The even delivered subway cars via car float.
