Al.
At least you got your white ensign the right way round, unlike the contractor bidding for work from the Royal Navy, seen in this presentation, linked from the Shrinking Royal Navy thread - fifth photo down - a sloppy cut & paste job - http://www.savetheroyalnavy.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/SPARTAN.pdf No doubt they won the contract... Al.
A Landing Ship Infantry (LSI) kit turned up today and soon to join the LCT's. I've still no idea how they'll fit into a layout...
Al.
Unlike the Revell kit, the Lindberg kit is pretty basic. It's a beginners skill level model and the detailing is on the course side. To get this up to the same level as the LCT's is going to take a bit of work. The basic hull and structure is okay, but the wheelhouse lacks the open bridge and the guns and pulpits lack detail. Some of the detailing can be resolved by using parts from the Revell LSM model. Other areas can be resolved with a but of modelling skill.

Al.
This is a very old kit, I remember building one as a teenager, I'm now 68. It defiantly has the look of a 1960's kit as the mouldings are very course. The second Linberg LSI arrived today but will be shelved for a little while until I find some spares from the Revell LSM to replace the gun pulpits. In the meantime I've picked up a commission for a Royal Navy Corvette from the 1980's period. I'll cover this build in a separate thread. Al.
Al.
The Corvette build is underway. The thread can be found here http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/120729-royal-navy-corvette-80s-era/&do=findComment&comment=2645624 Al.
Al.
The final bit of the landing ships has been done. The ramps are now fitted. I've not tested the rails yet. Al.
Al.
The Revell LSM soared arrived yesterday, so as soon as I've finished the Corvette, I'll move onto the LSI's. Al.
