FelixM
Hi all I am looking for a powered Chassis for a BR Mk3 in N gauge. I am trying to build a Class 442 5Wes unit and already have the bodyshell of the centre power car but no chassis. I know next to nothing about the japanese range of Kato or Tomytec chassis so is there or something else anything suitable? Thanks for help. RMweb Premium njee20 Posted February 14, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 14, 2017 TPM used to recommend the 158/159 chassis to motorise the 442. Probably a good starting point. I vaguely remember looking into this for similar reasons and struggling to find a 23m Japanese offering.
Karhedron
Maybe the Dapol 153 would be a good starting point. They are also 23m vehicles.
RMweb Premium Steven B Posted February 14, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 14, 2017 The Farish class 158/159 (and 170?) has the correct spacing (bogie centres & bogie wheelbase). Most of the Kato or Tomy chassis are much shorter and have smaller bogie wheelbases and so look rather odd even if used under a 57' first generation DMU. Happy modelling. Steven B.
