RMweb Premium Siberian Snooper Posted April 2, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 2, 2019 The output from the chimney would look better coming from the safety valves, on GW engines a wisp of steam coming from the safety's means that the boiler is a few pounds below working pressure, smoke from the chimney would mean the fireman was putting a round on. RMweb Gold Harlequin Posted April 3, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted April 3, 2019 Hi Kevin, Lovely to see trains running. How about some eye-level films from a fixed position, possibly simply panning to follow the subject, like a 1930’s Pathe News cameraman? I suggest your railcar journey would be enhanced by sound! Have you got a genuine stationmaster’s clock in you railway room?

No sound and only an inexpensive kitchen clock but it does have a loud tick!

Popular Post KNP
I thought I heard an aeroplane flying over. Been a while but the Squadron Leader decided to get in on the act and has taken a general view of Little Muddle station and harbour. Cathcott Field development fits in well and drags the station into the town. Back gardens still to do once I have finished a design that I am happy with. Looking at this view you can almost see where the railway cut through the town, the cobbled street abruptly stops by the platform fence, before the railway it extended down to the harbour with a road linking up with the one by the pub. Houses and small workshops filled this area but that all went when the GWR brought the land and the railway arrived - some say its progress. You can also see the large Britannia Boot and Shoe Company building behind the station, even they jumped on the GWR arriving when they brought the old Boot & Slipper PH (building with small window in gable end) and built a link to the main building to form more offices/shop and warehouse. There is still a small alleyway behind the station that links these two areas together so at least people on foot can get to the station without having to go the long way round. All coming together but there a few areas that I'm now not happy with as my building techniques have changed over the years!! Backscene to do but it will be limited. KNP
Two ages of motive power.... The old and the new! Though Phantom and Menace don't seem to worried they just want me to get on and finish the nose bags I started before getting sidetracked. Those passengers just seem to be sitting there, they do realise that this is a terminal station and not a through one.....don't they? KNP
Following on from what Phil (Harlequin) suggested I tried the stationary/pan around shot. It has a lot of merits but I do need to keep the camera still. So I will experiment with the main tripod with the camera on the swivel head and see how that works. First effort.... Focussing an issue.... Edited April 4, 2019 by KNP
RMweb Premium Siberian Snooper Posted April 4, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 4, 2019 Very good, what's making the noise in the background that sounds like a steam pump?
KNP
This was the other one I did. Like the disappearing off into the distance but a right issue trying to hold the camera still and turning almost through 180 degrees. Tripod time... 10
