Nice shot, I do like the way the height of the trees and the curving track make you want to look around the corner into the distance and the right of the picture. It's good picture composition in the photo and the model.

I think that looks spot on from here.

I find successfully weathering wood rather elusive. It gets even harder when you search for images online as there are so many variations and hues. Also impossible to be objective when you've just spent an hour on it. But once it's bedded into its environment it just works.

That reminds me that I have three of those to finish weathering the decks on, glad you posted this, it's going to be very useful!

And exactly how many wagons do you have to finish?????

Fire irons added, decided to add pep pipes to only 2 off them as in all the pictures I looked at some did not have one.

Could change, depends on which way the wind blows!!

And I found a bucket so can you guess which one I added it do?

Can you remind me what you used to model the 'pep' pipe please Kev ?

Solid core flexible wire found in telephone wiring.

Easy to bend, holds it shape and glued with super glue.

I'll keep it simple by saying "lots".

I'm keeping it that way until my half built layout is in a fit state to receive trains.

But I bookmarked that photo!

I haven't commented on this thread for a long time. This layout has just such a nice feel to it with so many well modeled well observed details.

For me it, when you look at it, it is an escape into another world. Which is my motivation for my layouts.

Best regards

Steve

Thanks for comments.

For the last 2 years this has also been my escape from the pandemic along with this website.

Hopefully I can carry on and keep every bodies interest going long after the pandemic has receded.

Thanks Kevin, I will have another read, I'm certain that I got the idea for the sawn logs from that article as well.

Me too, the world recently has become a far more uncertain place. And modeling and creating something is a good escape mechanism for us. And your layout I am sure inspires many. Keep at it.

Fast? A Freight? and on Little Muddle?? Surely not!

Or do you mean the passenger train?

Regarding the latter, I do have to say the illusion is a little spoilt by the slightly askew rear lamp and the lack of detail on the rear buffer beam! - I'll gloss over the very visible coupling!

Seriously, nice composition Kevin, although another variation might be a train waiting on the branch. Three trains in one photo on LM is going some.

Keep up the good work!

Paul
