Tim is asking for a European mainland (not UK) steam locomotive - in service (active, or preserved). OK, I took it as 'in active service' rather than 'in current service', but I am happy to sideline this one and repeat the call for a European mainland (not UK) steam locomotive - in service (active, or preserved). RMweb Premium melmerby Posted June 4, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 4, 2017 (edited) How about this: SPB in Wilderswil: European Mainland, Steam loco and a mountain railway and it's in service! Keith Next : Let's have another steam operated rack railway, where steam is the normal mode of power (not in the UK) Edited June 4, 2017 by melmerby
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted June 4, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 4, 2017 (edited) Here you go then - Jenbach's other railway, the Achenseebahn (at the Achensee terminus). You will see the engine is taking water - pumped from the lake, the smaller pipe is the steam link to the pump. Next a rack railway with other than steam power and not in the UK Edited June 4, 2017 by The Stationmaster

RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted June 4, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 4, 2017 (edited) Have a twofer! A photo by Alan Newman from Dad's album - colleagues and friends. RMweb Gold 96701 Posted June 4, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 4, 2017 So it is diesel, it has recently been 'out shopped' from Cowans Sheldon's works in Carlisle. I give you Healey Mills' 75 tonne breakdown crane. Any chance of a derailed train?

RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted June 4, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 4, 2017 How does this grab you for a derailment? And next - a breakdown crane (or other method) carrying out rerailing of vehicles or a loco
RMweb Premium Hilux5972 Posted June 5, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 5, 2017 This derailment happened on the West Coast of New Zealand at one of the sawmills there. Next, a photo of a canal, railway, and road all intersecting each other via bridges. I recently watched something online so I know at least one example of this still exists!
devonseasider
And next - a breakdown crane (or other method) carrying out rerailing of vehicles or a loco Lostock Hall MPD, July '65. Black 5 45209 lost its tender on some rough trackwork in the yard. The local crane only had to travel a few yards to do its stuff. Note how the loco-tender coupling bar has been crudely gas-axed to split the two parts. Here's the other end of the problem. Next, please, a loco showing obvious collision/accident damage & awaiting repair or condemnation. Oooops - too late!
