Chinese built CSR class loco 005 waits to depart SCT Logistics Penfield (Adelaide) terminal with the Wine Train shuttle to Outer Harbor - so called because it carries containers of South Australian wine for export (taken with permission) - 17 October 2014.

CSD 754 006-5 about to return to Czechoslovakia, with a cross-border train at Schirnding, West Germany, in May 1991.  This was the time when CSD had implemented their reclassification/computer numbering system (from T478.4 in this instance), the red stars had been removed with the opening up of the Soviet bloc (visas no longer required), but Czechoslovakia was still a single country and Germany was still divided.

On the JiTong Railway in China it was somewhat ironic that some of the diesels were of the same vintage, if not older, as the steam locomotives they were replacing. On Saturday 26 February 2005, DF4 6007 heads back to the shed at Daban.

In September 1978 on the West Sumatran rack railway at Padang Panjang is 0-10-0T E1007 built by Swiss manufacturer SLM in 1922. While beautifully posed and in steam for the duration of our 5-day visit, unfortunately it hardly turned a wheel during that time.

A mundane 008 just as the Cumbrian Coast loco hauled services cease in a week from now

Mk2F TSO 6008 at Preston in June 2015 waiting to depart for Barrow in Furness. 37423 at the pointy end, 37402 was pushing.

I have been on tenterhooks for what seems like weeks waiting for 008 to come up.

Only the one shot, though.

Guide Bridge, '80 or '81.

Regards

Ian

I once kept a record of each sighting of locos for a year - 40008 topped the list!

The fourth photo I took on my hand-me-up iPhone (from Eldest just before we spent a week on the Settle and Carlisle staying in the Station building cottage).

This was taken on the Eden Valley Railway and is of Thumper 205 009 on 13 August 2013.

A couple of railtours, 80s-style...
