EddieB
Well, I can't match seven "ones" in a row, but I can do two lots of four... NS 1111 at Amsterdam in November 1980. SNCS BB 1111 near Tambacounda with a p.w. train, March 1990.
RMweb Premium Claude_Dreyfus Posted January 4, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 4, 2019 You asked for 111's-will this do?Uniquely numbered 111 111 stands in Dortmund on an RE4 service to Koblenz. I like the fact the check-sum number was a 1 as well!
RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted January 4, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 4, 2019 Afraid I can only manage 3 1's either as a class, or a loco within a class. Weil Am Rhein June 2012
RMweb Gold rodent279 Posted January 4, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 4, 2019 (edited) I like the fact the check-sum number was a 1 as well! It has to be-Google the checksum as used by DB. There is an algorithm which is something like 1st digit x 1 2nd digit x 2 3rd digit x 1 4th digit x 2 5th digit x1 6th digit x 2 Add up all the INDIVIDUAL digits, then take the result away from the next whole multiple of 10. e.g. for 101 101, the above is 1 + 0 +1 + 2 + 0 + 2 = 6. Next whole multiple of 10 is 10, so 10 - 6 = 4, so checksum is 4. So for 111 111 it is 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 9. Next whole multiple of 10 is again 10, 10 -9 = 1, so checksum for 111 111 = 1. You have to sum the individual digits, so if there's an 8 in the number and it gets multiplied by 2, you sum up 1 + 6, not 16.
