Bezzy Oppo
You may have heard it here first. Or not. Remember Klackers? Here come their illegitimate twenty first century spawn: Fidget Spinners and Fidget Cubes. A hijacked therapy tool and now soon to be playground craze here in the UK. I'm dreading the inevitable from my 6 & 7 year olds. I just hope they go the way of Loom Bands. I suppose I could wax lyrical about the benefits of ceramic bearings in all of this... Edit: I think I'm sounding like my dad circa 1980.

RMweb Gold 57xx Posted May 2, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 2, 2017 Never heard of them. However, ceramic bearings are fantastic! Do they really use them in these toys?? When I last bought some there were a very expensive luxury to extract a few hundreth of a second of performance on my bike. Rolls like a dream though. EddieB
The special pleading started a few weeks ago. Thankfully the school has now banned them, so I may be in the clear...

br2975
"They've only ever really been used by children with additional support needs. In fact, specialists coming into the school recommend them for children and we'll buy them in for the children that are identified." . Well it's far cheaper than getting an autistic child 'statemented' - so I can see why schools will want to buy them instead ! . Forever the synic . Chameleon
Umm...... I've got 3. The plasticy ones with the 3 metal hoops in them are rubbish but I have wheel shaped one and a weighty three pronged thing, both with the ceramic bearings. They can spin for almost 4 minutes with a good start. I know, I'm a bairn!
Tim R-T-C
Spent far too long playing with my nephew's last weekend. Great fun and might get one for keeping focussed at work. Not sure why schools and parents are so up in arms. Infinitely less distracting than mobile phones.
