Luke Palmer
Hi all, Just for fun, I'm making a list of all of the locomotives I would like. Unfortunately now it's got a bit out of hand and I'm starting to add wagons and coaches to my list as well I would like to know, what locos go with what wagons/coaches, pics, info, etc would help. Thanks Luke
Grovenor
Suggest you do the research yourself. There are plenty of pics already on here and elsewhere on the web that google will find for you. Regards

Rivercider
That is an impressive list of locos there. The simplest way to get a feel for what stock goes with what loco would be to search for each loco number on Flickr, as I'll bet almost all of them are well photographed, you should then see what each loco regularly worked with, cheers
ejstubbs
The simplest way to get a feel for what stock goes with what loco would be to search for each loco number on Flickr And/or Google Image Search. Seemed to work fairly well for one I picked at random off the OP's list (66407).
RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted May 12, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 12, 2017 Or, assuming you live in the UK, go down to your nearest railway line, especially if there is a decent amount of freight traffic on it, watch the trains, and take notes. This method has the advantage of being good fun as well.

This method has the advantage of being good fun as well. A bit difficult seeing as many of those liveries disappeared years ago.... That is a way of doing it for some of the newer ones. Group them into the owners/liveries and then Google that livery/owner. Wikipedia is great for things like this. For example Network South East locomotives match each other. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_SouthEast Regional Railways locomotives also match each other. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regional_Railways EWS locomotive as well. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DB_Cargo_UK Fragonset. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FM_Rail And so on. Steamport Southport
Here's a few links to rolling stock that will go with some of the locomotives above. Just for ideas. Other shops are available. It's mostly Bachmann and Dapol for wagons. http://www.hattons.co.uk/stocklist/1000393/1000588/1000637/1446729/Bachmann_Branchline_OO_Gauge_1_76_Scale_Wagons/prodlist.aspx?showPreowned=false&pageid=1 http://www.hattons.co.uk/stocklist/1000393/1000588/1000637/1446730/Bachmann_Branchline_OO_Gauge_1_76_Scale_Wagons_UK_rail_era_9_Initial_Privatisation_1995_2004_1995_2004/prodlist.aspx http://www.hattons.co.uk/stocklist/1000393/1000588/1000637/1462223/Bachmann_Branchline_OO_Gauge_1_76_Scale_Wagons_UK_rail_era_10_Rebuilding_of_the_Railways_2005_2015_2005_2015/prodlist.aspx http://www.hattons.co.uk/stocklist/1000396/1000588/1000637/1446730/Dapol_OO_Gauge_1_76_Scale_Wagons_UK_rail_era_9_Initial_Privatisation_1995_2004_1995_2004/prodlist.aspx http://www.hattons.co.uk/stocklist/1000396/1000588/1000637/1462223/Dapol_OO_Gauge_1_76_Scale_Wagons_UK_rail_era_10_Rebuilding_of_the_Railways_2005_2015_2005_2015/prodlist.aspx Jason

Maybe it's a letter to Santa ? I remember filling out the whole Hornby catalogue when I was 8 for Santa, and the tight wad delivered nothing that year ! black and decker boy
If you are adding steam to that mix of diesels then you can simply buy any wagons or coaches advertised as the same era ((Bachmann are good at that). I would also add the lottery tickets you need to find the £40,000 you will need plus £100,000 for a layout room big enough to store and run them all. You could also consider investing in some books which will answer all of your questions E.g. For BR blue you have http://www.strathwood.co.uk/seventies-spotting-days-17-c.asp For sectorisation / railfreight intercity etc you have http://www.strathwood.co.uk/eighties-spotting-days-18-c.asp There are also good dvds of the late 80s / 90s https://www.amazon.co.uk/Glory-Days-Diesel-DVD-Box/dp/B005JDFWBK
RMweb Gold The Johnster Posted May 14, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 14, 2017 And in case that is not a big enough shopping list for you, don't forget that wagons were not repainted immediately in new liveries and the era before can be justified behind the next era's loco...
