RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted July 17, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17, 2017 (edited) Those of a certain age will remember the original TV series 'Mission Impossible' with all its 'Bondesque' gadgets (not sure which was first on screen) will be sad to see that Martin Landau has passed away. Equally good as villain or enigmatic hero. Edited July 17, 2017 by Re6/

bertiedog
Superb as Bela Lugosi in Ed Wood, and graced the screen with many cameo parts that were vital to many films. He was excellent in Mission Impossible, he said keeping a straight face was at times very difficult with the other actors, they all had to play the parts for all it was worth to make them believable. Rugd1022
Also appeared as one of James Mason's henchman in Hitchcock's 'North By Northwest'. A very talented charismatic actor, RIP Martin Landau.
Pete the Elaner
The Mission Impossible character of Rollin Hand was written specifically for Landau but, to give himself a little contractual freedom, he appeared as a special guest in most season 1 episodes. He was a regular in series 2 & 3. Most stories in these series used Rollin a lot, sometimes for multiple roles & Landau gave a great performance. RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted July 17, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17, 2017 Martin Landau played opposite Barbara Bain in both MI and Space 1999. They were married at the time.
Moggs Eye
It wouldn't be acceptable today, but I will always remember, with a smile, Martin Landau playing Chief Walks Stooped Over in the comedy western The Hallelujah Trail.
