N15class
Hi I will have a jubilee to build once I return home. I found I have some Slater's wheels ref 7881F they say they are for a 4p and Scott. Are these suitable for a jubilee or do I need the Stannier beveled ones. Thanks for help. Steamport Southport
According to the Alan Gibson catalogue it's Stanier 6'8" Bevel with 21 spokes with crankpins between spokes. http://www.alangibsonworkshop.com/ Jason
N15class
Here we go with another question. I will be building 45721 in BR days it has a stanier tender. Does anyone know if it was a welded or riveted one. I've not got a clear enough photo to see. Thanks in advance.
pH
A couple of closeups of the tender in this set- https://hiveminer.com/Tags/45721%2Cimpregnable Edit - according to Irwell's "Book of the Jubilee 4-6-0s", 45721 had a Stanier 4000gal welded tender from July 1959 till withdrawn. Before that, it had had a Fowler tender since 1948. Further edit - Barrowroad (below) beat me to it. Edited March 20, 2018 by pH

The Irwell book on Jubilees shows 45721 as having a Stanier 4000g welded tender fitted 9/7/1959 - tender number 10067. Robin
Steamport Southport
What date? I should be able to find out what tender it had at certain dates. It has a Fowler 3500 gallon tender here in 1953. http://www.warwickshirerailways.com/lms/lnwrbns_br1824.htm By 1961 it seems to have what looks like a welded Stanier 4000 gal tender. If I'm reading it correctly it originally had tender No 3902 from 6100 Royal Scot. Then got new 4000 gallon tender 9755 in 1940. Which was swapped for a 3500 gallon tender No 4501 from Patriot No 5523 sometime between 1946-1949. Then received tender No 10067 sometime between 1958 to 1964. So I take it this is tender 10067. http://www.jubilees.co.uk/photos/45721b.html Info from The Stanier 4-6-0s Of The LMS Rowledge and Reed Jason
N15class
Brilliant guys. Thanks. I thought it was a welded one but my photos just weren't clear enough to make it out. Thanks again. It'll save some time with the rivet press.
N15class
Here we go with another question for you clever people. The welded tender on the jubilees etc. I presume the frames were still riveted together, and not welded as per the tank. Many thanks.
Buhar
Looking at Townsin's Jubilee 4-6-0s on p140 there is a rear 3/4 view of 45562 in 1967 with a welded 4000gal tender. There are visible bolts on the sideframes below the cutouts and on the rear buffer beam. I don't know where else there would be visible evidence of the type of construction.
