Excuse going off toic a bit but if you like bad track...

well you cannot match the real ones for reason of physics but this is probably the best really good bad track modelling I have seen. Do see the video

Strange though it may seem the real things go slow enough to 'stay on track'.

Hi Andy, I was watching this vintage video about track maintenance the other day and found it really interesting. Typical public information film of the period . I like how several of the men are wearing Army surplus as workwear. The track and ballast look immaculate.  The film is in two parts and explains a lot of useful technical detail.

This morning I made a start on the back wall.

I've used Slaters 7mm walling.

 

Then a mix of colours.

 

Splash and Splodge it all over.

 

Then wipe off with a wet sponge and finally a tissue. Coping Stones will go on later.

I also re did the Cabin lights, replacing the Grain of Wheat Bulbs with LED's.

I then painted the area around the Cabin, although it will probably get covered in Ash and Ballast later.

I used two different Greys and a Black, all water based, to make cleaning up easier.

 

 

And mix on the Layout to ensure it is NOT just one colour.

And finally I've made up the Buffers and fitted the LED's and painted over the wires and will be ready for fitting once dry.

33012 passes an unidentified 47 waiting in the Goods relief road from the Top Yard whilst running to Dore End, 08 No. 08173 waits in the middle road with 3 VAA Vans destined for the Top Yard.

So a busy busy morning, up to Bank and then a start on the Embankment (see what I did there) on Bench Road.

Just some Ex Mince Pie boxes and the hot glue gun.

Nothing fancy as the Flockery and Foligery will hide it all in a few days time.
