georgeT
l have done some more work on the colour signals over the past few days and the MKll version signals are an improvement on the last batch this method l can make 2 - 3 and 4 colour signals, the Peco ladders are flimsy but look the part l think...as l have a big scrap box full of odd brass / tube left overs and loads of 3mm LEDs the signals are costing pennies to make....plus an hour to make...
RMweb Premium Ray H Posted December 24, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 24, 2018 Festive salutations. That looks the business George. I had great trouble when building a 7mm signal kit for a colleague. Once the LEDs were in place and the wires attached thereto - using the brass work as the common connector - in soldering the (back) box to the rear of the front plate. They were using 5mm LEDs though and the shade over the lens was just a shaped piece of brass. Your idea seems much better.

georgeT
Hi Martin, l could never match Bodgit for the speed he has for building layouts Hahaha, grumpy street is coming together at last and the weathering of the ballast has made a huge difference and the 08 that David (Jintyman) had repaired and weathered for me really fits in and really looks at home now, also looking forward to my class 31 he is working on fitting sound and repainting to Dutch, with weathering with snowploughs..cant wait....
Andrew P
The weathering done by Jints on the 08, now looks even better against weathered Track and Grass, superb mate. Edited January 1, 2019 by Andrew P
georgeT
Thanks Andy, Yes it really brings things together nicely and l am very pleased, need to get some more static grass of different colours, will build the signals tomorrow and hopefully get them installed and working ?... that the plan anyway ... georgeT
Been busy experimenting many different possibilities with the static grass in various sizes and decided to put a load of PVA glue onto a sheet of plasticard and let dry over night, l can then cut and peel into strips and stick the onto the foot of buildings about 15 / 20mm wide, as l say just mucking about, also have been priming other projects, lan is making the water tower for his 'Shed Street' layout..l want to paint the bus into the orange / white / brown Manchester livery....
georgeT
Apart from painting, the signals are fitted and working at last, also l have primed a brass Bachmann tanker and the bus, also l had a little running session
